Installation instructions:
1.)
Remove the rear panel trim and floor covering from the luggage compartment. Remove the rear
bumper.
2.)
Heat the insulation material around the contact area of the left and right retaining plates „2" and „3"
with a hot air blower („hairdryer") and remove the material.
3.)
Drill Ø 23-mm holes in the floor pan at positions „a" above the left and right frame side members.
The positions for the holes are marked by punch marks which can be located by holding retaining
plates „2" and „3" against the floor pan.
4.)
Insert retaining plates „2" and „3" into the floor pan at positions „a" and mark the positions for the
holes at positions „b" on the rear panel. Punch the marked positions with a prick-punch and drill
Ø 12-mm holes through the rear panel.
5.)
Insert the spacer pipes into holes „a" in the floor pan from above. Lay retaining plates „2" and „3"
on the floor pan, inserting the rubber seals between the retaining plates and the floor pan.
6.)
Position angle brackets „4" against the rear panel from outside and bolt them loosely to the rear
panel and retaining plates „2" and „3" at positions „b".
7.)
Hold towing bracket „1" against the frame side members from below and bolt it to the frame side
members and retaining plates „2" and „3" using the M 10 x 100 hexagon bolts inserted from above.
Bolt on the side parts using angle brackets „4" at positions „c".
8.)
Align the towing bracket and tighten all the bolts evenly.
Tightening torque:
9.)
Refit the rear panel trim, floor covering and rear bumper. Cut away part of the underside of the
bumper around the towbar.
