PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
IZAR Radio External 868 PULSE is a unidirectional radio transmitter designed to be used in combination with
a pulse emitter (Diehl Metering or others). It uses the PRIOS communication standard and can therefore be
read by any system using this protocol.
IZAR RE 868 PULSE is designed for radio reading in mobile mode or fixed network (R3). The lifetime of the
module is up to 12 years in standard conditions of use (non-replaceable battery). It can be connected to
any meter fitted with a dry-contact pulse emitter or an NPN open-collector transistor output.
1.2
COMPATIBILITY
1.2.1 WITH METERS
IZAR RE 868 PULSE radios are compatible with meters (water, thermal energy, gas, electricity) fitted with
a Reed dry-contact pulse emitter or an open-collector transistor output (NPN).
1.2.2 WITH PULSE EMITTERS
Diehl Metering has tested the operation of IZAR RE 868 PULSE with several dry-contact and NPN open-collector
pulse emitters.
Please enquire at Diehl Metering to find out which pulse emitters are compatible.
NB: Diehl Metering disclaims all liability for the non-functioning or malfunction of IZAR RE 868
PULSE if it is connected to dry-contact or transistor pulse emitters other than those tested by
Diehl Metering, or if the pulse emitter manufacturer has modified the specifications of its product
since Diehl Metering tested it.
1.3
PROGRAMMING
IZAR RE 868 PULSE is programmed with the optical head IZAR OH-RS-232 or with IZAR OH BLUETOOTH. For
details regarding programming, please refer to the technical manual of the IZAR WIN CE software program.
The configuration can be done, using the optical head connected to the top of the radio module.
In order to carry out the programming properly, the optical head must be positioned across from
the diode on the top of the radio module (fig.2).
When a handheld computer and software other than Diehl Metering are used, make sure to check the
parameterization of the following points:
