Assembly / installation
Check whether all the required parts have been supplied. See the
overview on the left-hand fold-out page of the folder.
1. Fit the end board with four screws to the foot end of the bed.
2. Attach the storage compartment.
3. Place the reversible mattress and the top mattress on the bed.
4. Check whether the batteries are in the remote control.
5. Fit the receiver/manual control unit to the side of the bed.
Using the remote control
Massage on/off
Check whether the receiver/manual control unit and the
transmitter/remote control are using the same frequency.
The buttons on the top of both devices must be pointing
in the same direction, either to the right or to the left. The
massage functions can only be operated using the remote
control. The receiver is a standard manual control unit. If
the light is on you can start the massage programmes.
If no button is pressed for a period of 10 minutes, the
manual control unit will return automatically to the normal
mode (light off).
Parallel function
If you want to control a number of beds at the same time,
the sequence of all remote controls must be the same (the
buttons on the top).
Massage at the head end
Briefly pressing the button will turn the massage motor on
or off. Pressing the left side of the button makes the mas-
sage more powerful. Pressing the right side makes the
massage less powerful. You can also adjust the intensity
while being massaged, although this will temporarily inter-
rupt the programme.
Massage at the foot end
Briefly pressing the button will turn the massage motor on
or off. Pressing the left side of the button makes the mas-
sage more powerful. Pressing the right side makes the
massage less powerful. You can also adjust the intensity
while being massaged, although this will temporarily inter-
rupt the programme.
The massage programmes
Briefly pressing the left button will start either the wave
massage or the pulsating massage. Briefly pressing the
same button again will activate the other programme. A
massage programme always starts in conjunction with the
settings last-used (both as regards the programme and
the intensity).
Saving and activating massage settings
You can save two sets of preferred settings. Move the bed
to the desired position and set the massage intensity to
the desired level. Then press the 'S' button, followed by
button '1' or button '2'. To activate previously saved set-
tings, press button '1' or button '2'.
Emergency function
The motor contains two type A batteries. These are
activated in the event of a power cut, meaning you will still
be able to raise or lower the bed. We recommend that you
adjust the head and foot ends separately. In order to gua-
rantee that this emergency function works, the batteries
have to be replaced once a year.
Noise level
A mechanical and electrically adjustable bed always
generates some noise. In most cases, the noise that the
bed makes depends very much on the acoustics of the
room it is in. If the massage function has been switched
on, hard floors may cause an unexpected, loud reverbera-
ting noise. This can be reduced by placing a rug or some
other material that absorbs noise and vibrations under
the legs.
Usage
The bed's motors are not designed for continual usage.
Your bed will only function reliably for the expected
operating life if the motors are activated for no longer than
2 minutes during any 15 minute period. Excessive usage
of the motors will shorten the product's operating life and
will render the guarantee invalid. The bed is constructed
in such a way that it can support a person weighing a
maximum of 120 kg, with the weight distributed naturally
across the entire surface of the bed, from the head end
to the foot end. Non-compliance with these guidelines will
damage the product and render the guarantee invalid.
Usage with a pacemaker
As is the case with all products that vibrate, there is a risk
that certain pacemakers will interpret the vibrations as
bodily movements. As a result, there is a slight risk of your
pacemaker being affected. If you are concerned about
this, please contact your GP.
