Explanation of symbols
The symbol with the lightning in the triangle indicates that there is a risk to your
health, e.g. due to an electric shock.
This symbol is used to highlight important information in these operating instructions.
Always read this information carefully.
This symbol indicates special information and advice on how to use the product.
Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on

• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent
unauthorized use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
may damage the product.
• Always observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which
are connected to the product.
• Make sure that the adapter output is not short-circuited.
• Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may
cause a fatal electric shock! First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to
which the mains adapter is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit
breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off at the corresponding RCD
protective switch, so the socket is fully disconnected). You can then unplug the
power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in an
environmentally friendly manner and discontinue use. Replace it with a power
adapter of the same design.
• The mains socket must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Only connect the power adaptor to a normal mains socket connected to the public
supply. Before plugging in the power adapter, check whether the voltage stated on
the power adapter complies with the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• The power adapter must never be plugged in or disconnected when your hands
are wet.
• Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable;
always use the grips on the plug.
• When setting up the product, ensure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or
damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power unit from the mains socket during
storms.
• Never pour any liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next
to the product. If liquid or an object does enter the interior of the device, power
down the respective socket (e.g. switch off circuit breaker), and remove the mains
plug from the mains socket. Discontinue use and take the product to a specialist
repair centre.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. The condensation generated could destroy the product. The power
adapter may also generate a fatal electric shock! Allow the product to reach room
temperature before connecting it to an appliance. This may take several hours.
• Ensure there is sufficient air circulation when you operate the product. Never
cover the product. Never place this product on a tablecloth or a carpet. Place the
product on a firm, fireproof surface.
• Make sure that the adapter output is not short-circuited.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket under the following conditions:
- Before you clean the product
- During a thunder storm
- If the product is not used over an extended period of time
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be done by a technician or an
authorized repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Operation
Always disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket before changing the
output plugs.
The output voltage of the power adapter must match the input voltage of the
connected electrical device.
The output voltage is automatically controlled by the choice of the respective output
connector.
• Select an output connector that fits the input jack and input voltage of the electrical device
(see table).
• Connect the plug to the connector at the end of the output cable. For safety reasons, the
output plug cannot be inserted in reverse polarity. The inner contact is positive ("+") and the
outer contact is negative ("–").
• Connect the output plug to the switched off device.
• Connect the small appliances plug of the power cord to the appropriate socket on the power
adapter.
• Connect the mains plug to a standard mains socket. The LED on top of the power adapter
indicates operational readiness.
• Place the power adapter on a firm, flame-resistant surface and make sure that the power
adapter is properly ventilated.
• Now, switch on the connected device. If it does not work properly, turn it off immediately and
disconnect it from the power adapter.
• Disconnect the power supply from the mains voltage as soon as you are no longer using it.
