Then hold the bristles motionless on the teeth, slightly from inside, outside and from above (chewing
surface) – without applying pressure – for ca. 5 to 10 seconds.
The bristles of the ultrasound attachment cover 2-3 teeth. The actual retention time depends on the
degree of impurity of the teeth (e.g. dental plaque, nicotine, stains from wine, etc.). With acute problems,
such as gingivitis or periodontitis, keep the bristles on the affected teeth with the bristles for 15 to 20
seconds. This has a faster and more effi cient therapeutic effect (the duration is harmless, since this
involves low-energy ultrasound). The ultrasonic cleaning of teeth usually requires ca. 4 to 6 minutes of
time (perhaps a bit longer in the beginning). After completion of dental cleaning (device turned on), go a
few times over the teeth in order to dissolve any detached or still adhesive impurities. Rinse the mouth as
usual with water afterwards.
Briefl y rinse the bristles and handpiece (while still turned on) under running water, then turn the device off
and lightly dry the handpiece (not the bristles). Please make sure that the bristles are clean and free of
food particles or other impurities. Since ultrasound sterilises, the bristles are automatically and thorough-
ly disinfected after using the device. You can simply plug the device with inserted ultrasound attachment
into the charging station again after dental cleaning, or you can use the device up to ca. 10 days (with
use twice a day) without recharging, if the batteries are fully charged and the daily cleaning time does not
exceed a total of 10 minutes.
Caution:
Absolutely make sure that the handpiece is turned off with an empty battery, since otherwise no recharg-
ing takes place! Even if the battery is not yet discharged, never insert the device into the charging station
while it is turned on! Dentists recommend performing ultrasonic cleaning of teeth twice a day for ca. 3-6
minutes. If you clean your teeth twice a day, please replace the ultrasound attachment after ca. 3 months.
If you take the device with you while traveling, the stored energy of the fully charged battery lasts for up
to ca. 10 days, with use twice a day for ca. 2 x 5 minutes. A 24 hour bulk charge has to take place again
after that.
Mode of Operation:
Our ultrasonic devices are the latest and most effective method of oral hygiene and dental care (dental
micro cleaning). They have been developed according to the latest scientifi c knowledge by German engi-
neers, and do not function like conventional toothbrushes (dental macro cleaning), which are said to take
effect through mechanical friction and abrasive substances in the toothpaste, but utilise the characteris-
tics of modern ultrasound technologies.
Ultrasound technology has already been applied for many decades with great success in many medical
fi elds, among other things with cerebral, ocular, pregnancy and gastric examinations, etc. The use of
ultrasound for oral hygiene and for the cleaning and care of teeth is absolutely harmless for human be-
ings, whether old or young or people with a cardiac pacemaker. It is scientifi cally proven that ultrasound
with an output up to 50 watts is harmless to the human body. Emmi-dental functions with an output of
only 0.2 watt. The effect and the safety of ultrasonic waves have been verifi ed by dentists and implantol-
ogy specialists. Many years of experience, also with crowns, inlays, implants or bridges, have not shown
the slightest negative effects. The ultrasonic waves are conducted via the bristles into the Ultrasound
Toothpaste medium, where they form millions of microcavities (micro-bubbles). Due to their minuteness
the bubbles also penetrate into the narrowest interdental spaces, fi ssures, gingival pockets and clefts,
e.g. with implants or braces, without any mechanical pressure and without any mechanical friction or
other stress. All impurities such as tartar, food particles, bacteria etc. are thoroughly removed through
implosion of micro-bubbles. At the same time, the ultrasonic waves have a positive effect on the gums,
palate and tongue.
Among other things, the positive effect of ultrasonic treatment is also based on the release of the body's
own energies, the promotion of lymphatic drainage and the positive infl uencing of the blood fl ow, since
the ultrasonic waves penetrate into the lowest gingival layers. The prophylactic and therapeutic effect of
dental cleaning and oral hygiene is based mainly on the fact that ultrasound destroys germs and bacteria,
not only on the teeth and the gums, but also in the gums.
The following further purchase parts are offered for the device: Fig. 2, page 3.
