Intended Use
The products may only be utilised for cases of application intended in the catalogues and the technical
descriptions, i.e. for cleaning teeth, and only in conjunction with external devices and components recom-
mended or approved by EMAG AG. Any other use or additional use is not considered to be the intended
use.
In the event of unintended use, EMAG AG does not assume any liability for possibly arising damages and
no guarantee for fl awless and correct functioning of components.
Observance of all details in the operating instructions also belongs to intended use. The
symbol on
the identifi cation plate refers to this.
The fl awless and safe operation of products presupposes appropriate transport, storage, installation and
assembly as well as careful operation and maintenance. The recurring tests in accordance with the Ger-
man Occupational Health & Safety Regulation BGV A3 are to be heeded.
The device must be installed so that the charging station's power plug is freely accessible at any time.
Improper Use
Dangers to life and limb as well as dangers to property can arise with improper use of the product. Im-
proper use is prohibited for this reason. In the event of unintended use, EMAG AG does not assume any
liability for possibly arising damages and no guarantee for fl awless and correct functioning of compo-
nents. In order to preclude an improper use of the device, the following details are to be observed:
• The ultrasonic device for dental micro cleaning may only be operated with the mains voltage which is
printed on the identifi cation plate (underside of the charging station).
• Do not use any combustible or aggressive chemicals (acids, etc.) for cleaning.
• If transport damages are detected, do not connect the charging station to the mains.
• The device may only be operated in interior rooms at room temperature.
Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT before initial use:
Before using, connect the charging station's plug with the outlet (230 V~/50 Hz), insert the handpiece into
the charging station and charge for approx. 24 hours.
While the handpiece is inserted in the charging station, the red LED display below the switch on the
handpiece is illuminated in order to show that the device is fl awlessly charging (display also illuminates
when batteries are fully charged and the handpiece is put back on the charging station; in the process,
the charging is automatically turned off). Remove the handpiece from the charging station and insert an
ultrasound attachment vertically from above (please make sure that the ultrasound attachment is inserted
vertically, and is also removed vertically upward in order to prevent damage to the contact pins of the
handpiece; do not tilt!). Briefl y wet the bristles of the ultrasound attachment under running water, and ap-
ply Ultrasound Toothpaste to the bristles (approx. twice the size of a pea).
Please note: Use only Emmi-dent Ultrasound Toothpaste, since commercially available toothpastes do
not enable a formation of microcavities (micro-bubbles).
Turn the device on. The ultrasound is generated in the ultrasound attachment directly above the bristles
and is controlled through the electronics in the handpiece. After turning the device on – without ultra-
sound attachment – you will feel a vibration. This means that the electronics of the handpiece are func-
tioning fl awlessly. The green LED display below the switch on the handpiece is not illuminated. With in-
serted ultrasound attachment – device turned on – the green LED display below the switch is illuminated
and thus shows that the ultrasound generator is functioning with the proper frequency and fl awlessly. If
the green LED display is not illuminated, the ultrasound attachment can have a poor contact or no contact
with the pins of the handpiece or can be defective. In this case, use another ultrasound attachment and
contact our service department because of the defective attachment.
After turning the device on you will feel a slight vibration and hear a faint noise. This has nothing to do
with the cleaning! Since one does not see, hear and feel ultrasound, a small motor has been integrated
in the handpiece so that the user feels and hears that the device is turned on (as he/she is accustomed
to with any other device). Lightly spread the toothpaste over the inside and outside of your teeth with the
bristles (device turned on).
