Buttons functions
Switching on the scale and advancing to the next parameter (please see setting personal
SET
parameters)
Each pressing increases the parameter value after each step. Holding down the button will
speed up the increase of value.
Each pressing decreases the parameter value after each step. Holding the button speeds up
the lowering of value.
Insert/Replace batteries
1.
Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the scale.
2.
Remove the empty battery, if necessary use a suitable object.
3.
Insert a new battery, observe correct polarity. Close the cover of the battery compartment.
Setting the weight unit
On the bottom of the scale is the button for unit change, see picture. Press this conversion
button to switch between units kg or lb.
Note: The default measurement system of the scale depends on the region.

Measurement principles
Through human body pass electric signals of a certain frequency, whereby the impedance of body fat is higher
than the impedance of muscle or other human tissues. The device generates an alternating electrical current
with safe frequency and low voltage. Using the analysis of biological resistance, impeding the passage of the
current through the human body (impedance of various tissues, fats and muscles), the percentage of the body
fat in human organism is derived from the differences in resistance.
About the percentage of body fat and water
The human body contains on average 45–85 % of water, the water content in the fat tissue is about 45 %, in the
muscle tissue about 45 %. The fat content in the body should move at a certain level, excess body fat impairs
metabolic processes and thus increases the risk of various diseases.
With increasing age, the proportion of body water decreases. While the proportion of water in infants maybe
as high as 85%, older people can remain below 55%. A man in productive age has content of water in the body
on average 62 %, in women it is around 56 %. Lower value is caused by higher percentage of fat.
Normal amount of fat tissue is 10–20 % for men and 18–28 % for women. The proportion of body fat increases
with age, in women over 50 years is permissible value of 33-35%.
