7. Commissioning
a) Setup
I nstallation of the device must be carried out by a specialist familiar with the hazards and the
relevant regulations. Maintenance, operation and commissioning of this device must only be
carried out by qualified persons.
When choosing a location for your device, make sure to avoid impact, vibration, dust, hot and
cold temperatures and dampness. Furthermore, no powerful transformers or motors must be
used close to the device.
When setting up the device, make sure that the power cord and the remote control cable are not
crushed and cannot be damaged by any sharp edges.
Do not drill or screw additional screws into the casing in order to fasten the device. This may
expose dangerous voltage to touch.
Never operate the device on flammable surfaces or close to flammable objects. Always keep a
distance of at least 3 m from flammable or potentially explosive objects.
Observe that the fog exit opening is not pointed at persons, animals or open flame. The escaping
hot steam may cause burns (comply with a safety distance of at least 5 m).
The fog nozzle becomes very hot. The surface of the fog machine may heat up up to 40 °C - 80 °C.
Ensure a sufficient ventilation of the device, maintain a free zone of 0.5 m around the device and
never cover the ventilation openings.
Let the fog machine cool off before you top up fog liquid, disassemble the device, transport or
service it.
The fog machine is designed for operation on the ground. Only set up the fog machine on a
horizontal floor.
The device must be set up out of normal reach.
All statutory regulations applicable in the respective country must be observed when setting up
the device.
Empty the tank entirely if you transport the device.
Acceptance test (in case of industrial/public use):
Before first use and after any significant modifications, the installation (including the electrical
connections) must be inspected by an official expert.
A yearly inspection by an expert is required.
At least every 4 years, an acceptance test must be carried out by an expert.
