5. THE HELIUM ESCAPE VALVE

6. HELIUM ESCAPE VALVE HANDLING

The helium valve allows existing helium atoms to exit. Therefore it prevents the buildup of internal
pressure, which can lead to a losening of the glass of the watch. If the pressure in the watch
exceeds 5bar, the pressure compensation will be done automatically. The helium valve is used for
movements in a pressure chamber or in other areas with pressure overload (tunnel construction)
and should be opened in these dry situations only.
Turn and open the helium valve.

Dry up the valve with normal water before closing it after dive.
Close the valve and be sure, that the valve is tightly closed.
ATTENTION: Please leave the helium valve closed at all times. Open it only
as needed in dry areas with pressure overload.
