b) Power adapter/power supply/battery charger
• The power adapter is constructed according to protection class II. Use only a proper mains outlet of the
public power supply grid for the voltage/power supply to the power adapter.
• The mains socket must be easily accessible.
• Do not unplug the power adapter by pulling on the cable. Grip the sides of the plug and then remove the
plug from the socket.
• Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal electric
shock!
Switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing the power adapter (switch off at the corresponding
circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off at the corresponding RCCB).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in an
environmentally friendly manner and discontinue use. Replace it with an identical model.
• Connect only the supplied power adapter to the battery charger. Do not use the power adapter for any
other purpose. The battery charger and power adapter may only be operated together.
• The power adapter and battery charger may only be operated in dry, enclosed indoor rooms and must
not become wet or damp. Avoid direct sunlight, intense heat and cold temperatures. Keep the power
adapter/battery charger away from dust and dirt. Do not place any containers filled with liquid, vases or
plants on or next to the power adapter/battery charger.
Should these liquids find their way into or onto the power adapter/battery charger, the power adapter/
battery charger will be damaged beyond repair. In addition, there is an extreme risk of fire and of fatal
electric shock.
• The battery charger may only be used to charge the supplied drive battery (or an identical replacement
drive battery). Never charge other types of battery or non-rechargeable batteries. There is a high risk
of fire or explosion!
• Do not place the battery charger on flammable materials (e.g. a carpet or tablecloth). Always use a
non-combustible, heat-resistant base. Never cover the battery charger or the power adapter. Keep the
battery charger away from flammable or combustible materials (e.g. curtains).
• Do not place the battery charger on valuable furniture without using suitable protection. Otherwise, there
is a risk of scratches, pressure points and discolouration.
• Do not use the power adapter/battery charger inside vehicles.
• Keep children away from the power adapter/battery charger and the batteries. Children may short circuit
the battery, which may cause a fire or an explosion. Danger of death!
• Do not use the charger in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields, transmitter
aerials or HF generators. These can affect the battery charger's electronic control system.
• Never charge the drive battery with the battery charger unattended.
• Remove the drive battery from the vehicle for charging.
• When handling the battery charger or batteries, remove metal or conductive objects (e.g. jewellery such
as necklaces, bracelets or rings). A short circuit may cause a fire or explosion.
• Never use the power adapter/battery charger immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. This may generate condensation, which can cause the product to malfunction or damage
the interior components.
Allow the power adapter/battery charger to reach room temperature before connecting and using them.
This may take several hours.
