LD SYSTEMS LECC DSP

WHAT DOES THE DESIGNATION "LD SYSTEMS LECC DSP" MEAN?
DSP is short for Digital Signal Processing, LECC is short for Limiter, EQ, Compressor and Crossover. Digital signal processing ensures optimum audio
playback with maximum clarity and at the same time protects the PA system from overload.
HOW DOES LECC DSP ACTUALLY WORK?
The limiter function protects the speakers and prevents distortion caused by overload. Separate limiters for the bass, mid and high ranges
weaken the signal when the level exceeds a value that could have negative effects. Each limiter is optimised for one of the three seamlessly linked
frequency ranges (multiband-limiter). In this way, the system can be used at a higher overall sound pressure level, as extreme signal peaks are
automatically reduced so that the overall volume does not have to be reduced.
The multi-band EQ tailors the entire frequency range and optimises the overall sound of the system.
The compressor is automatically activated to increase the bass and thus create a more powerful sound. At increased volume, the bass-boost is auto-
matically reduced. The automatically controlled lows are optimally integrated into the overall sound.
The crossovers send the audio signal to the respective speakers, depending on the frequency range, i.e. the subwoofer, mid-range and high-fre-
quency drivers in the array column. The optimisation of amplitudes and run-time of the crossovers ensures that all frequencies are distributed
evenly and reach the audience at the same time.
