1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Open the kettle by first pressing the catch in the lid in the
direction of the arrow and then pulling the lead upwards.
Then fill in the water. Please only fill up to the maximum
(MAX) mark. You can read the filling level on the water level
indicator of the kettle.
3. Close the lid until you hear it lock in place.
4. Place the kettle flush on the base.
5. Electrical connection
•
Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to
use is the same as that of the machine. Details are to be
found on the label on the base.
•
Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V,
50 Hz safety socket.
6. Switch on the kettle by pressing the switch. To control lamp
lights up.
7. After boiling has finished the kettle switches off automati-
cally, or you can push the switch upwards to interrupt or stop
the boiling process.
WARNING:
•
If you remove the device from the base without pushing
the switch up beforehand, the kettle remains switched on.
Always switch the device off before you remove it from the
base! Please also ensure that it is switched off when you
put it back on the base.
WARNING: DANGER Of SCALDING!
•
When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
•
During operation the housing becomes hot. Do not touch it
and allow the device to cool down before storing it away.
Switching off
•
If you would like to turn the kettle off, push the switch
upwards and remove the plug from the socket.
•
The control lamp goes off.
•
Emptying the water container.
Mains Cable Take-up Device
The mains cable can be wound up on the base.
WARNING:
•
Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove
the mains plug. Wait until the device has cooled down.
•
Never immerse the device or the base in water or other
liquids.
CAUTION:
•
Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
•
Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

Use
Cleaning
•
Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it
off with a cloth.
•
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
•
There is a permanent filter in the spout. In order to clean the
filter, pull it out with the lid open. Rinse out the filter with run-
ning water. Reinsert it, taking note of the guide mechanism.
Decalcification
•
The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the
hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is
used.
•
If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably
needs to be decalcified.
•
Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available
decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the
quantities stated in the instructions.
NOTE:
After descaling the device boil fresh water in it several times
(approximately 3-4 times) in order to remove any residues. Do
not consume this water.
Troubleshooting
•
It is not possible to switch the machine on.
Possible Cause:
After being used without or with too little water the machine
has not cooled down sufficiently.
Remedy:
Allow the machine to cool down for 15 min.
•
The machine switches off before the water has boiled.
Possible Cause:
The heating element is covered in scale or the electrical
circuit of the power socket is overloaded.
Remedy:
Descale the machine as instructed.
Check the mains connection.
•
The machine does not switch off.
Possible Cause:
The lid is not closed or the filter is not inserted.
Remedy:
Close the lid until it locks in place or re-insert the filter.
•
The device switches itself back on when placed on the
base.
Possible Cause:
The switch is turned on.
Remedy:
Press the switch upwards.
