Putting into operation and setting the clock
 Remove all packaging material from the appliance and put it on a heat and water resistant, stable and
flat surface.
 Put the plug in an earthed wall socket. The display lights up and "12:00" appears.
 Press once the button "set clock/timer". At the right side at the top of the display the word "clock" ap-
pears.
 Press the "h" button to set the hour. Press the "m" button to set the minutes. After button is pressed, it
will light up for 15 seconds. The clock uses the 24-hours format.
 The display shows the set time.
Brewing Coffee
 Before first use and after the appliance has not been used for a longer time, operate the appliance two
or three times with maximum water content and without coffee powder. Then rinse the filter and the jug
with hot water.
 Before filling the water tank make sure that the appliance is switched off and cooled down.
 Open the lid (1) at the water tank (2) upwards and fill it with cold water. The water level indicator shows
the number of brewed cups with approx. 125 ml of brewed coffee per cup.
 Place the filter holder (10) into the appliance. The cavity (8) should point towards the water tank. Swivel
the locking-handle (9) forward.
 Insert into the filter holder (10) a paper filter of type 1x4 and fold the sealed edges. The paper filter
should not stand over the rim of filter holder. Therefore the paper filter can be slightly pressed down by
hand.
 Put desired amount of pre-ground coffee in the paper filter. Per cup approx. 5 - 7 grams filter-fine grind-
ed coffee.
 Close the lid (1) at the water tank until it is closed with a hearable "click". Keep the lid (1) closed
throughout the coffee preparation process.
Attention: The lid (1) at the water tank must be closed correctly to ensure that the coffee can flow into
the glass-jug (see picture above).
 Put the glass jug with closed lid on the hotplate (7). Switch on the appliance by pressing the button
"on/timer/off" one time. The button will light up red while appliance is on.
 When all the water has passed through the filter, the jug can be removed from the appliance.
 To switch off the appliance press the button "on/timer/off" twice, it will light up blue for 15 seconds.
 Let the switched off appliance cool down for some minutes before you start brewing coffee again. Fill
the glass jug only in cold condition.
 The brewed coffee can be kept warm in the glass jug on the warming plate at serving temperature. The
appliance switches off automatically after approx. 40 minutes.
Attention: Do not leave the empty glass jug in the switched on appliance. The glass jug may get very
hot and can break.
 Switch off the appliance after use.
Setting the timer
 With the timer the time can be preset within 24 hours at which the coffeemaker starts to brew coffee.
Make sure the clock is set to the correct time.
Note: After a power failure for more than 10 seconds the clock and timer need to be set again.
 Press once the button "set clock/timer". At the left side at the top of the display the word "timer" appears.
 Press the "h" button to set the hour. Press the "m" button to set the minutes. After button is pressed it
will light up for 15 seconds. The timer uses the 24-hours format.
 The display shows the set starting time for the timer. The appliance switches on automatically at the set
time if the timer has been activated.
 Follow the steps of section "brewing coffee" to prepare the appliance for brewing coffee.
 Activate the timer function by pressing the "on/timer/off" button twice. The button will flash with blue
light. The appliance will start automatically at the pre-set time and the "on/timer/off" button will light up
red.
 To switch off the timer function, press the "on/timer/off" button. It will light up for 15 seconds.
 To check the preset time off the timer, press the "set clock/timer" button twice. The preset time will be
shown at the display.
Cleaning and maintenance
 Pull the plug and wait until appliance is cooled down.
 Never immerse the appliance in water. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth only. Clean the filter
insert and glass jug in hot water with some washing-up liquid.
Attention: Let the glass jug cool down before cleaning.
 Clean the inside of the glass-jug with a soft brush, hot water and some washing-up liquid. Do not clean
the glass-jug in the dishwasher. After cleaning rinse the jug with fresh hot water.
 Do not use caustic or scouring cleaning agents.
Descaling
 The appliance needs to be descaled periodically to guarantee optimal brewing results for a long time.
Depending on the water quality (lime content) in your area as well as the frequency of use, descaling
needs to be done on a regular basis to guarantee optimal brewing results. Signs of scale are lengthen-
ing of the brewing time and increased noise during brewing.
The appliance should be descaled after each thirty to forty brewing cycles.
 For descaling a white vinegar solution may be used containing vinegar and water in a mixing proportion
of 1 to 3.
 Fill the water tank up to the maximum amount with the vinegar solution and switch the appliance on.
 Let the appliance run until the amount of one cup has been brewed and switch the appliance of.
 Wait for up to 30 minutes for the vinegar solution to descale the appliance.
 Switch the appliance on and let the appliance complete the brewing cycle.
 Let the appliance complete two to three more brewing cycles with fresh, cold water (without coffee
powder) to remove all vinegar residues.
 Attention: The guarantee does not cover damages due to not following the descaling link.
The appliance complies with the European directives 2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU, 2009/125/EC
and 2011/65/EU.
At the end of its lifetime this product must not be disposed of through the normal domestic
waste, but it should be handed to an assembly point for the recycling for electrical and electroni-
cal appliances. You can inquire about details at the local administration.
