Refer to the table below if the unit does not operate properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below, or if the
instruction below does not help, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.
Problem
No sound.
Cannot change the unit's volume
by changing the iPhone/iPod's
volume.
The iPhone/iPod display does not
change by pressing the remote
control's volume keys.
The iPhone/iPod cannot be
controlled using the remote
control.
The external device cannot be
controlled using the remote
control.
The remote control cannot be
used.
The green status indicator is lit,
and the red status indicator is
flashing.
The green status indicator is off,
and the red status indicator is
flashing continuously.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
The iPhone/iPod is not connected
securely.
The external device is not connected
securely.
The unit is not turned on.
The volume is turned down.
The protection circuitry has been
activated by excessive volume.
The connected iPod is not supported,
or the iPhone/iPod is not connected
securely.
When playing an external device, only
the volume can be changed using the
remote control.
The remote control is out of operation
range.
The battery is exhausted or was not
inserted correctly.
The insulation sheet has not been
removed.
Connection failed.
An error occurred and the unit's
protection circuitry has been activated.
Remedy
Connect the iPhone/iPod securely.
Connect the 3.5 mm (1/8 in) stereo
mini plug cable securely to the unit and
external device.
Connect the AC adaptor and power cable
securely.
Turn up the volume.
Turn down the volume.
Use a supported iPod, or connect iPhone/
iPod securely.
Control all operations other than volume
control at the external device itself.
Use the remote control within its
operation range.
Refer to the Quick Manual for more
information.
Replace the battery and insert it
correctly.
Refer to "Replacing the Remote Control
Battery When It Is Exhausted" for more
information.
Remove the insulation sheet. Refer to the
Quick Manual for more information.

Use a supported iPod.
•
Connect the iPhone/iPod securely.
•
Restart the iPhone/iPod.
•
Update the iPhone/iPod firmware to the
latest version.
Disconnect the AC adaptor, wait for a
while, and then connect the AC adaptor
again.
