7 - REPLACEMENT OF THE SPRING (Model DGF)

The spring wich allows the hose to rewind is inside a housing. The center of the spring is joined to the drum.
WARNING !
DISASSEMBLY OF THE SPRING SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY PROPERLY TRAINED
STAFF. HANDLE THE SPRING WITH GREAT CARE TO AVOID SERIOUS
INJURY (Figure A).
1.
Remove the rubber stop and insert the hose slowly into the hose reel until the spring is
completely slackened (Figure B).
2.
Loosen the swivel joint (Figure B).
3.
Loosen the 2 screws on the spring side by a 10 mm wrench (Figure C).
4.
Unscrew the 4 screws used to close the two half-casings. Remove the half-casing, the roller
support and take out the drum (Figure C).
5.
Take out the central shaft from the spring housing (Figure D).
6.
Lift the tangs on the drum by a screwdriver and rotate the spring housing centre in order to release
it from the drum (Figure E).
7.
Turn upside down the drum and take out the spring housing centre paying the greatest care so
that the spring does not go out of it (Figures F and G).
8.
Insert the shaft into the new spring housing centre hooking the spring to the incision.
Lubricate the spring and the shaft.
9.
Put the drum straight and place the new spring housing centre with the utmost care.
Block the tangs (Figure H).
10.
Assemble all the parts and go on as indicated at the chapter 5 "Replacement of the hose".
