5.4- Operation
Leaves and small garden chippings
• Feed from the larger front chute of the hopper. (Fig. 6)
• Shredding is achieved by natural suction of the debris
through the blade.
• Do not overfeed and do not feed wet, soggy material
into the shredder, because they may be clogged in the
blade chamber or discharge chute.
Larger garden chippings (
• Feed from the smaller back chute of the hopper. (Fig. 7)
• If a finer mulch is required, re-feed the mulch again
until the desired size is obtained.
Feeding
• In case of necesaary, the provided push stick (15) could
be used to push the remaining materials into blade
chamber.
• Do not use hand or any part of body.
Tips for shredding
• Tree branches should be shredded shortly after they are cut. They become extremely
hard once dry and the maximum cutting diameter is reduced.
• Garden waste such as fresh foliage, creepers and vines contain a lot of moisture, this can
result in material sticking to the cutter head. Such material should be allowed to dry for a
few days before being fed into the shredder.
• Always check material before shredding, ensure it does not contain any stones or nails as
this may severely damage the shredder.
• Materials that contain dirt (such as roots) will rapidly blunt the cutting blades and should
be avoided, OR the dirt should be removed before feeding into the machine.
