14. Connect the White wire to the neutral bus bar.
15. Connect the Green wire to the ground bus bar.
16. Connect the Black and Red wire to the two-pole
circuit breaker installed in Step 4. Connect the Black
wire to one terminal and the Red wire to the other
terminal. Do not install both wires on the same
terminal.
17. Connect the Orange/White wire to the single pole
circuit breaker installed in Step 5. Do not install
Orange/White wire to the same two-pole breaker
that the Black and Red wires were connected to in
Step 16.
18. Check that all connections are correct (See Fig. 9),
tight and secure.
To complete the installation, go to Step 20 for Surface
Mount and Outdoor applications. For Finished Wall
(Flush Mount) applications, go to Step 19.
19. Install flush mount lid as follows: place flush mount
lid over CHSP and tighten screws #1 (supplied with
Flushmount Kit) to attach lid (See Fig. 5).
20. Replace load center cover.
21. Restore electrical power. Switch main breaker to ON
position.
22. Reset the two-pole circuit breaker supplying power
to the CHSP to the ON position. The LED indicator
lights should illuminate. Note: if the two-pole circuit
breaker supplying power to the CHSP trips, replace
the unit.
23. Reset the single-pole circuit breaker supplying
power to the CHSP monitoring circuit to the ON
position.
OPERATIONS/TROUBLESHOOTING:
The CHSP requires no maintenance. In the unlikely
event that any of the following conditions exist:
•
the indicator light is off and the breaker has tripped
•
the audible alarm is on (to turn audible alarm OFF
move single pole circuit breaker handle - installed in
step 5, to the OFF position)
Remove the unit and request a replacement. The CHSP
ULTRA has a lifetime warranty.
WARRANTY:
The warranty is valid only when the product is used in
residential environments. The warranty is non-
transferable.
Product
Cutler-Hammer warrants the CHSP ULTRA for life time
from the date of delivery to the purchaser to be free
from defects in both workmanship and materials. An
extended warranty for household electronics and
appliances damaged by power surges/transients is also
included for a period of 30 months.
Defective CHSP units are to be forwarded Freight,
Brokerage and Duty Prepaid after obtaining
authorization and return instructions from the Cutler-
Hammer Customer Service Center (see phone
number below).
9. S'il n'y a pas de pastille défonçable pour monter
le CHSP dans une position de mur fini, brancher le
dispositif en utilisant la bride comme illustré à la
fig. 6. Passer les fils à travers la pastille défonçable
la plus rapprochée. Suivre les règlements du NEC,
de la CSA et/ou les règlements locaux pour les
détails de câblage.
Applications extérieures (figure 7) :
10. Monter le contenant du CHSP à côté du tableau de
distribution extérieur à l'aide de la bride du contenant
ou directement sur le tableau de distribution extérieur
à l'aide du mamelon de conduit du CHSP. La
distance entre le CHSP et le tableau de distribution
ne devrait pas dépasser 7,5 cm (3 po).
11. N'utiliser que des accouplements et un conduit
cotés étanches à la pluie pour brancher le CHSP au
tableau de distribution extérieur. Les matériaux
utilisés doivent être résistants à la corrosion et
étanches à l'eau.
Installation finale (figures 8 et 9) :
12. Garder tous les fils de connexion aussi courts que
possible (longueur maximale recommandée de
30 cm [12 po]). Torsader ou attacher les fils
ensemble (à l'aide d'attaches métalliques).
13. Enlever l'isolant des conducteurs avec précaution.
Couper toute longueur de fil en trop et dénuder les
quatre fils d'une longueur d'environ 1,25 cm (0,5 po).
14. Brancher le fil blanc à la barre omnibus neutre.
15. Brancher le fil vert à la barre omnibus de mise à la
terre.
16. Brancher les fils noir et rouge au disjoncteur
bipolaire installé à l'étape 4. Brancher le fil noir à
une borne et le fil rouge à l'autre borne. Ne pas
brancher les deux fils à la même borne.
17. Brancher le fil orange/blanc au disjoncteur unipolaire
installé à l'étape 5. Ne pas brancher le fil orange/
blanc au même disjoncteur bipolaire auquel les fils
noir et rouge ont été branchés à l'étape 16.
18. S'assurer que toutes les connexions sont adéquates
(voir fig. 9), serrées et solides.
Pour compléter l'installation, passer à l'étape 20 pour
montage en surface et applications extérieures. Pour
les montages encastrés (en mur fini), passer à l'étape 19.
19. Installer le couvercle affleurant comme suit : placer
le couvercle affleurant sur le CHSP et replacer les
vis n° 1 (fournies avec l'ensemble pour montage
encastré) pour fixer le couvercle (voir fig. 5).
20. Remettre en place le couvercle du tableau de
distribution.
21. Rétablir l'alimentation électrique. Placer le
disjoncteur principal à la position EN CIRCUIT (ON).
22. Remettre à la position ON le disjoncteur bipolaire
qui fournit l'alimentation au CHSP. Les indicateurs à
DEL devraient s'allumer. Nota : Si le disjoncteur
bipolaire qui fournit l'alimentation au CHSP se
déclenche, remplacer le CHSP.
