When correctly installed and used, this
device only recognises smoke above a certain
concentration in the air flowing through its
measuring chamber. A model of this device
was tested by an independent laboratory
according to EN 14604:2005 + AC1: 2008
standards. As the alarm is dependent upon
the specific arrangement put in place by the
customer, there is no guarantee that it will
be triggered.
Safety guidelines
This device is a described as a smoke alarm.
This device does not detect fire, heat, flames
or gases and steam.
This device should help to save lives! Please
check regularly that the device is in working
order and that the batteries are charged. This
will ensure that it functions correctly in the
event of a (hopefully unlikely) emergency.
The device can detect smoke and set off an
acoustic signal. The device cannot detect the
origin of the smoke or prevent it.
This product is unsuitable for anyone with
a hearing impairment. Please consult a
specialist for further information.
The device may malfunction when exposed
to unexpectedly high electromagnetic
radiation. The device must therefore not be
installed near electrical devices which emit
radiation.
Ensure that packaging and contents are kept
well away from children to avoid any risk of
suffocation.
Please keep instructions in a safe place.

Maintenance / Cleaning
The device has an internal measuring
chamber which detects smoke. The device
must be kept free from dust in order to
ensure that enough air can flow through
the sensor. Use a damp cloth or brush to
remove dust. No dust or dirt must enter the
device during cleaning as this may cause it to
malfunction.
Ensure that no water enters the device.
Do not use any readily inflammable,
chemical, corrosive, abrasive or sharp
cleaning materials.
Guidelines
This device can be used in conjunction with
the BURGprotect Base Radio alarm system.
The system can be configured to send an
alarm to the user when the smoke detector
is triggered.
In order to ensure that the system functions
correctly it is important to install it in the
correct location.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The device may
not function correctly if installed in an
inappropriate location.
Optical smoke detectors such as this one
• do not set off a heat alarm
(radiation, warm air, heat, etc.)
• will not set off the alarm if air cannot
circulate unhindered through the
measuring chamber.
• can also be triggered by other/foreign
particles which enter the measuring
chamber.
IMPORTANT NOTE: A person's sense
of smell is not active when the person
is asleep!
