can be used to connect additional active
speaker systems, for example .
4) For power supply, use the mains cable
provided to connect the mains jack (13)
to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) .
5 Operation
1) To make sure that the initial volume is
not too high, set the control SUB (5) to
MIN before first-time operation . Then
switch on the subwoofer system with
the POWER switch (11) . The power LED
ON (10) will light up . Once the input sig-
nal being applied is high enough, the LED
SIGNAL (8) will also light up .
2) When operating the entire audio system,
use the control SUB to adjust the desired
intensity of the bass frequencies .
CAUTION Never adjust a very high
volume . Permanent high
volumes may damage your
hearing! Your ear will get
accustomed to high volumes which do
not seem to be that high after some
time . Therefore, do not further increase
a high volume after getting used to it .

3) Use the control FREQ (4) to adjust the
highest frequency to be reproduced by
the subwoofer in such a way that the
subwoofer will ideally complement the
sound of the other speakers .
4) When the speakers are placed at different
distances to the listener, this may result
in phase cancellation (certain frequencies
will be reproduced at a lower volume) .
To compensate this effect, use the switch
PHASE (3) to reverse the phase of the
subwoofer signal . Test both positions of
the switch to find the position offering
the bass reproduction of the highest vol-
ume at the listening position . Then use
the control SUB to readjust the volume,
if required .
5) When the volume is too high, the limiter
will automatically attenuate the volume
to protect the speakers against any dam-
age . The LED LIMIT (7) will light up . If
the LED lights frequently or permanently,
turn back the control SUB accordingly;
otherwise, the limiter will respond all the
time and reduce the dynamic power .
6) After use, switch off the subwoofer sys-
tem with the POWER switch .

6 Protective Circuit
In case of overheating or in case of a fault,
the protective circuit will separate the
speaker from the power amplifier to prevent
any damage . The LED PROTECT (9) will light
up . If this is due to overheating, switch off
the subwoofer . Wait until the subwoofer
has cooled down before operating it again .
In case of other problems, do not switch
on the subwoofer again and eliminate the
fault .
