• Use the device only with the enclosed base.
• Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (observe the Max mark on
the water tank!). If the device is overfi lled, boiling water could
escape from the spout.
• Do not operate the device without water or if water has not been
fi lled up to the Min mark. If this does happen, the device will
switch off automatically. In this case, push the On/Off switch up
and let the device cool off before fi lling it with cold water and
boiling it again.
• Each time before boiling, ensure that the lid is properly closed
and that the On/Off switch is not jammed as the device may
otherwise not be able to deactivate.
• Do not move the device during the boiling process.
• Maintain adequate distance to heat sources such as stoves or
ovens to prevent damage to the device. Do not place any open
fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the direct vicinity of the device,
cord and plug.
• When fi lling, pouring out or cleaning the kettle, take it off the base.
• Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong
percussions.
• Do not pull or carry the device by the cable.
• Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe chan-
ges in temperature, moisture, wetness or direct sunlight.
• Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean
the device. They could damage the surface.
Hygienic notes
• The device may have production residue stuck to it. To avo-
id health risks, clean the device before fi rst use (see chapter
"Cleaning and care").
• Only boil fresh (drinkable) tap water that has a cold to moderate-
ly warm temperature. Do not use any water from a bath tub, sink
or other containers.
• Keep the device clean.
