in the form of bubbels. At the same time, the bubbels remove harmful gases from
deeper in the water. That prevents the suffocation of microlife and fish. When the
water temperature rises in the summer, lack of oxygen often occurs. The fish will
swim to the surface to gasp for air. And when you remove algae, you take away an
important source of oxygen too. The solution is to aerate the pond. When in winter
the pond freezes over, fish can often die as a result of suffocation, particularly in small
shallow ponds. However, you should never chop a hole in the ice because the
vibrations will harm your fish. Aeration of the water is a better solution. The air
bubbles will keep the pond ice-free and the water oxygen-rich.
INSTRUCTIONS
The Silenta Air Outdoor pump is rain proof and should be located next to the pond.
Use the air hose to connect the pump outlet to the air stone that hangs in the pond.
First mount the hose swivel on the pomp outlet (for types 3600, 4800 and 6000). For
types 4800 and 6000 install the T-part between the hose parts to divide the airflow to
both air stones. The air hose can be dug in, however, you should avoid to reduce the
air flow. Please provide a good quality grounded connection to the electric mains
and use an earth leakage circuit breaker rated 30 mA. Prevent the plug and socket
form getting moist. If the pump or cable should become damaged, the pump may no
longer be used. Using the air divider (outlets 4/6 mm) supplied along the aeration
can be extended for optimal distribution of the air in the pond.
Order additional air stones, hoses, connection pieces and membranes online at
www.pondproducts.shop or ask your local dealer.
MAINTENANCE
In order to remain durability and air yield of the air pump, it is advisable to replace
the membrane every year. This brings back a reduced air yield to the original level.
Visit www.pondproducts.shop for a repair set or ask your local dealer.
Replacing membranes in the Silenta Air Outdoor 1200, 1800 and 3600 (see drawing A)
1. Switch off the power supply and remove the hose.
2. Remove the 4 screws next to the rubber feet on the underside and open the
housing. You can leave the rubber feet in place.
3. Remove the 4 screws on the corners of the metal cap and be careful with the
rectangular rubber seal when opening the pump housing.
4. Remove the 8 screws on the outside of the pump housing to remove both of
the membrane housings, including the magnet between them, from the pump.
5. Open both membrane housings and remove both membranes by loosening
the screws.
6. Install the new membranes (including housings) in reverse order from disassem-
bly. Make sure that the rubber seals (8-sided) and the nuts on the corners of the
membrane housings are in the right place. Carefully position the membrane
housings, including the magnet, in the pump housing and tighten the screws.
7. Make sure that the rubber seal and cable duct in the metal cap and the housing
are mounted in the correct place and tighten all screws.
