For Your Safety
The safety instructions for the electro-tool used
must be strictly observed.
Bosch can assure flawless functioning of the ma-
chine only when original accessories are used.
Mounting
Preparing the Machine
• Adjust the belt running position on the belt sander
according to the operating instructions.
• Switch off the machine and wait until it comes to a
standstill.
Then position the sanding belt so that the
glued joint is not visible; if the glued joint sits
on the workpiece during alignment, the ma-
chine cannot be aligned parallel in the sand-
ing frame.
Mounting Steps
• Do not turn the adjustment knob 4 until the ma-
chine is mounted in the frame.
• Place the machine with the groove 3 on the ec-
centric pin 6 from the side
the other side on the eccentric pin 7
• Now press the nose of the machine completely
into the holding clip 5
ed, the two claws next to the nose engage the
bars next to the holding clip 5.
• Place the sanding frame with the mounted ma-
chine on a flat surface. Loosen the screws 9 (2x)
and 10 (2x). Press the machine downward until it
rests evenly on the flat surface. In this position,
tighten the screws 9 (2x) and 10 (2x) firmly.

to the right (+).

to the left (–).
Changing the Sanding Belt
First, pull the machine upward out of the clip 5, then
out of the eccentric pins 6 and 7.
When reinserting, a renewed alignment of the ma-
chine in the sanding frame is not necessary.
Adjusting for Uniform Material Removal
On the side with too much material removal, loosen
the screw 10 somewhat. Then turn the screw 8 a lit-
tle to the left (the machine is lifted as a result) and
again firmly tighten the screw 10.
Operating Instructions
The material removal and the sanding pattern are
determined by the position of the adjustment knob 4
and the grain of the sanding belt.
The brush insert 1 is recommended for more sensi-
tive workpieces and improves the dust vacuuming.
The plastic insert 2 is recommended for exact flat
sanding, especially along workpiece edges.
Place the machine with the sanding frame on the
piece to be worked.
Switch on the machine.
Work with the least possible sanding pressure. The
machines own weight is adequate for good sanding
results. This reduces wear to the sanding belt, the
workpiece surface is smoother and energy con-
sumption is lower.
Work with moderate advancing and parallel, over-
lapping sanding passes. Sand in the direction of the
grain since crossways sanding results in disturbing
sanding effects.
Switch off the machine only after it has been lifted
from the workpiece. Wait until it comes to a stand-
still before placing down.
