D) Recentering:
Important: The eventual centering fault, it means the distance between the crosswire and the reference
piece has to be corrected on each side of the half of the observed value, it means the half with the help
of the crosswire and the other half with the reference piece.
1. Loosen the fixing screw of the protection ring (3) and unscrew the
protection ring.
2. For correcting the half of the vertical or horizontal centering fault,
use both screws (10).
(Important: Both screws, horizontal and vertical have always
to be simultaneously placed, it means loosen a screw and
screw the in front of placed other screw.)
3. Turn the turning cross of 180°. The lines should be now
superimposed. If not, repeat operation 2.
4. Mount again the protection ring.
Adjustment of the position „zero" of the goniometer:
E)
1. Put the impact-lever (6) in position (see drawing).
2. Loose the blocking screw (9) on the vernier ring (4).
3. Turn the vernier ring (4) at left till the impact.
4. Put the goniometer on the 0° position. The vertical lines of the turning graticule and the reference
piece has to be superimposed.
If this is not the case, do the following:
– Loose the screw (7).
– Put the impact-lever (6) backwards.
– Turn the goniometer till the vertical line is superimposed with the line of the reference
piece.
– Block the goniometer with the lever (8).
– Put the vernier ring (4) in 0° position and block with the screw (9).
– Screw back approx. 2 mm the screw (5) on the impact-lever (6).
– Put the impact-lever (6) in front and move the screw (5) till the impact.
– Tight the screw (7).
