Multistage switch
The steakboard is equipped with a 3-position switch:
0 = Off
I
= Medium temperature →
Blue indicator light.
II = High temperature →
Red indicator light
Grilling
∙ During operation, the steakboard must be placed on
a level, heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes
and stains. When grilling food with a high fat or moisture
content, splashes are not always avoidable.
∙ Check that the steakboard has been correctly
assembled.
∙ If necessary, fill the reflector tray with water.
Hint: When cooking food with a high fat content,
fat will drip into the reflector tray and catch fire. To
prevent fat from igniting, it is therefore necessary to
fill the tray with water when cooking such foods.
∙ Insert the plug into a suitable earthed power outlet.
∙ Set the switch to position II.
∙ The indicator light comes on and the appliance starts
heating up.
∙ Let the steakboard heat up for about 10 minutes before
putting on any food.
Hint: Avoid putting the food straight from the
refrigerator on the grill rack. We recommend taking
the food from the fridge one hour before grilling.
∙ Sear the food on level II for several minutes, followed by
moderate grilling on level I.
∙ The water level in the reflector tray should be checked
regularly and replenished as necessary.
Once the grilling process is finished:
∙ Turn the switch back to 0.
∙ Remove the plug from the power outlet.
∙ Allow the appliance to cool down.
Cleaning and care
∙ Ensure that the steakboard is thoroughly cleaned after
use.
∙ Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the
mains and let the steakboard cool down.
∙ Do not use metallic pads, steel wool or abrasive
cleaning agents to clean the base unit and reflector tray.
∙ Remove the grill rack and reflector tray and clean
them in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher; if
necessary, let the parts soak for a while. Dry the
individual components thoroughly. Because of the high
temperatures, some discoloration on the grill rack and
reflector tray are unavoidable and do not affect the
quality.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, the junction box with
heating element must not cleaned with or immersed in
liquid. These may be wiped with a slightly damp cloth;
wipe thoroughly dry afterwards.
∙ If necessary, the base unit and grill pan may be wiped
with a slightly damp cloth.
