1. Make some holes in the solidified fat with
a sharp object. Be careful not to damage the
heating element.
2. Select a low temperature so that the fat sof-
tens up slowly.
3. When the fat has liquefied the temperature
can be brought up higher.
Note: If your fryer contains solidified fat, store it
away at room temperature.

REPLACING THE OIL

The useful life for oil or fat depends on the num-
ber of uses and type of frying. Impurities end
up at the bottom of the pan, the "cool zone",
located below the heating element. Because
of this the particles do not become charred
and the oil or fat can be used for longer. It is
advisable to periodically filter the oil in order to
remove these particles.
Always store the fryer with the lid fitted; to stop
dust or other elements from spoiling the oil or
fat.. Replace the oil when it becomes darker, has
bad smell or gives the food a bad taste. Never
add fresh oil or fat to that being used.
Used oil or fat must never be poured down the
toilet or sink. Dispose of it in a closed contai-
ner and take it along to the appropriate refuse
container.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Wait until the oil or fat has cooled down before
attempting to store the fryer. Use the cable
compartment to store the cable away and place
the lid on the fryer. Side handles are provided to
help you carry the fryer.
Before cleaning the fryer, make sure that it is
cold, unplugged from the mains and that the ca-
ble is stored in the cable compartment, figure 6.
Remove the top lid and the detachable control
module with the heating element attached, figu-
re 7. Remove the basket and the pan and empty
out the oil or fat.
Cleaning the pan and the basket.
It is advisable to wash the pan and basket in
hot water and washing-up liquid each time the
oil is changed. If you intend to wash the pan in
the dishwasher, first remove any leftover oil or
fat with the aid of a spatula and kitchen paper.
Make sure that it is completely dry before refi-
lling it with oil or fat.
Cleaning the casing and the lid.
Use hot water and washing-up liquid to clean
the casing. Dry it off with a cloth. Clean the lid
with hot water and washing-up liquid, make
sure that it is completely dry before putting it
back on the fryer.
Both the casing and the lid are dishwasher
proof.
Cleaning the detachable module
Wipe it down with a damp cloth or kitchen
paper. Do not let this part come into direct con-
tact with water or any other liquid. The heating
element must never be immersed in water. Clean
the detachable module on a dry surface from
where there is no risk of it falling.
After cleaning the appliance make sure that the
detachable module locks back into the corres-
ponding slots correctly.

To store the fryer
The basket handle can be folded, figure 8, or
removed for easier storage, figure 9.
USEFUL TIPS
• Foodstuffs should be completely dry before
immersing them into oil or fat.
• To stop chips from sticking together wash
them before frying them.
• It is advisable to fry foodstuffs that contain a
lot of water, such as chips, in two stages: Heat
the oil up to maximum temperature and put the
chips in for five minutes. Drain them off and wait
until the oil has reached maximum temperature
again and then return the chips so that they can
finish browning off.
• It is not necessary to defrost foodstuffs, but it
is advisable to fry frozen food in two stages.
