When sharing files with an UPnP server, my PC is very slow.
If you are sharing many files or many gigabytes of content, in particular videos,
please make sure that you are not running any other software that requires high
CPU usage.
It takes a long time to share files with an UPnP server.
If you are sharing gigabytes of content with an UPnP server, it may take several
minutes depending on the size of the content you are sharing.
The ACTIVY Media Player will not play my AVI files.
Make sure that your AVI files are smaller than 2 GB. AVI files have a limit of 2
GB. This is a limitation set in the AVI standard.
The ACTIVY Media Player will not play my WMA Pro files.
WMA Pro files are currently not supported. The Media Player will play WMA
files but not WMA Pro files.
Playback of videos or Follow me TV™ is jerky / not shown when using a
wireless network
The bandwidth of your network or WLAN router is not sufficient to distribute TV
via UPnP.
Reduce the number of devices connected to the WLAN. Ensure that only those
devices required for Follow me TV™ transmission are active.
For videos, the transfer rate of conventional WLAN connections according to
standard IEEE 802.11g may be too low. This is particularly so if a wireless
connection is being used for both the source of the video and for the playback
device.
Can I use my ACTIVY Media Player without an Intel® Viiv™ Technology
enabled PC?
Yes, the ACTIVY Media Player comes bundled with Microsoft Windows Media
Connect, which can serve various media files for playback on the ACTIVY
Media Player using Windows XP.
I have an Intel® Viiv™ technology enabled PC, but I do not have a Intel®
Viiv™-verified router. Can I still use my ACTIVY Media Player with my Intel®
Viiv™ PC?
Yes, you will be able to access content on the PC via both Intel® Media Server
and the Intel® Viiv™ Zone. However, without a Viiv™ router, you will be unable
to use your Intel® Viiv™ PC to easily connect the ACTIVY Media Player to your
network wirelessly. In this case, you must enter wireless network parameters
manually.
I'm using WPA security but cannot get the ACTIVY Media Player to connect,
what might be wrong?
For WPA security, make sure you enter the WPA passphrase into the Key box
on the WiFi menu.
