Procedure for Installation of the RS232 - RS485 Protocol
Converter
General Description
With the protocol converter, it is possible to connect three different
physical levels: an RS232 port for connection of a device, an RS485
port for connection of up to 32 devices and a fiber optic port for
connection of up to 32 devices.
A total of 32 slave and one master device can be connected.
There are two version of the protocol converter: the complete version
(including the fiber optic port) is model No. 969-9259 while the
version without fiber optic port is model No. 969-9258.
Functioning
The protocol converter is equipped with light indications that
represent its functioning status.
The meaning of the various LEDs is described below:

POWER led: indicates that the device is powered and ready to
operate;
ERROR led: indicates that there is an error in the frame received
(frame or parity error);
RS232 led: indicates data traffic on the RS232 port;
RS485 led: indicates data traffic on the RS485 port:
Fiber led: indicates data traffic on the fiber optic port.
