8. Storage
Store unit exclusively in a dry location (-20 to
+50 °C).

9. Installation location

● Choose an installation location where the
air can circulate with as little hindrance as
possible.
● Recommended installation height 1.50 m.
● Minimum spacing from adjacent walls or
doors 50 cm.
● Do not position anywhere in direct
sunlight, on exterior walls, heated walls
(chimney), damp walls, in niches or behind
curtains.
Preparing installation location
1. Permanently lay cables of sufficient
dimensions to the installation location
(recess-mounted).
2. Ensure a level, dry base.

NOTICE
Unit with safety extra-low voltage
(SELV)
 Ensure the correct power supply.
1. Open sensor housing, using a screwdriver
to unclip the bottom safety catch.
2. Take sensor unit off the wall-mounting
frame.
3. Pierce installation holes in the wall-
mounting frame. Screw wall-mounting
frame on wall with appropriate mounting
material. The cable entry must be at the
top.
4. Wire connector plug to the electrics in
accordance with the wiring diagram. If
desired, connect the potential-free
switching contact (n/o contact).
5. When the switching contact is connected,
set the switching points of the two

potentiometers (VOC and RH). When set
all the way to the right, the function in
question is switched off.
6. Place sensor unit on wall-mounting frame.
This must audibly clip in at the two safety
catches.
11. Commissioning
1. Ensure that the unit is correctly connected.
Check that the technical data has been
adhered to.
2. Switch on power supply.
The two LEDs (VOC, relay switching status)
briefly light up and you can hear the relay
switching.
3. Run function test. Switch on the supply
voltage for this to happen.
● The EAQ 10/3 switches on.
● The VOC LED is illuminated blue-red-off-
blue.
● The relay LED is illuminated red and green
in turn.
● There is then a constant voltage of 3.0 volt
DC at the 0–10 V output (VOC) for approx.
2 minutes.
● Then the sensor switches into measure-
ment mode (output signal depends on air
quality).
4. Wait around 15 minutes for the sensor to
adjust to the ambient temperature. This is
important because external influences
(heat of hands, humidity) during
installation may produce an incorrect
measuring result.
The EAQ 10/3 is now ready for use.
