2 Safety Notes

It is essential to observe the following items:

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g. drink-
ing glasses, on the unit.

Do not set the unit into operation, and immediately
disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the unit or to the mains
cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The unit must in any case be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.

A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or by authorized, skilled personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains
plug from the mains socket, always seize the plug.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord -
ance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal in the plug which is marked
with the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
If the unit is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a
disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.
3 Applications
This compact speaker system with integrated amplifier
is especially suitable for the extension of HiFi systems
but it can also be used in an optimum way as a moni-
tor speaker or for PA applications of small events, pre-
s entations, etc. The speaker system is designed as a
bass reflex system and equipped with a bass speaker
and a dome tweeter.
4 Setting into Operation
4.1 Setting up and mounting
1. For placing the speaker system without any fixa-
tion, screw off the mounting bracket (10). For this
purpose unscrew the two mounting screws (11).
2. For using the system as a wall speaker, it can
tightly be screwed to the wall via its mounting
bracket (10). For better handling, first screw off the
bracket. For this purpose unscrew the two mount-
ing screws (11). Then fix the bracket to the wall and
tightly screw the speaker system to it.
4.2 Making the connections
Only make or change all connections with the active
speaker system switched off.
1) Connect the output of the signal source to one of
the jacks INPUT (5), either to the XLR jack (bal -
anced) or to the RCA jack. It is possible to con nect
the line output of a mixer, a CD player, a power
amplifier, or any other desired audio unit.
