Initial operation
Inserting the batteries
Caution: use new batteries only and under no circumstances used batteries. Make sure that both batteries are
charged to the same level.
# Before inserting the batteries make sure that the alarm function is deactivated.
# Insert the key [4] into the key switch [2] and turn it to OFF position.
# Pull the key out of the key switch. The arrow marking points to the OFF position. The door alarm is switched off.
# Release the fastening screw [7] on the battery compartment cover [6] in anticlockwise direction (see Fig. C).
# Pull the battery compartment cover down and remove it from the door alarm.
# Insert two new batteries of type LR03 1.5 V (AAA) in the battery compartment.
# Make sure that the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.
Activating / deactivating alarm functions
You can set two different alarm functions on the door alarm:
Immediate alarm
and delayed alarm
.
The magnetic sensors of the activated door alarm react as soon as the distance to the magnet becomes greater than
approx. 10 mm. When the alarm responds, the loud alarm signal is emitted for approx. 90 sec. After the alarm has
been triggered, the LED [10] lights up green. As soon as the door is closed completely again, the alarm function is
reactivated.
# To change the operating mode, first switch the key to the "OFF" position and then to "ON" to activate the
function.
# Do not leave the key in the key switch when the alarm function has been activated.
- Activating the alarm function
Use the
- alarm function so that the door alarm emits the alarm signal immediately when the door is opened.
# Close the door completely.
# Switch the function switch [3] to position
.
# Place the key [4] in the key switch [2] and turn it to ON position.
# Pull the key out of the key switch. The arrow mark points towards the ON position.
# The alarm function is immediately activated and the LED is switched off.
When the door is opened, the alarm signal is emitted.
- Deactivating the alarm function
# Place the key in the key switch and turn it to OFF position. The alarm function is deactivated.
# Pull the key out of the key switch. The arrow mark points towards OFF position.
The LED is switched off.
- Activating the alarm function
Use the
alarm function so that the door alarm can be deactivated with the key approx. 10 sec after the door has
been opened. If the door alarm is not deactivated within this period of time, the alarm signal is emitted to indicate that
the door has been opened.
# Close the door completely.
# Set the function switch [3] to position
.
# Place the key [4] in the key switch [2] and turn it to ON position.
# Pull the key out of the key switch. The arrow mark points towards the ON position and the LED lights up green for
approx. 12 - 18 sec. During this time you may leave the room.
# The alarm function is activated as soon as the LED is switched off. During the delay time after the door has been
opened, the LED lights up red for 12 sec. If the door alarm is not deactivated within this period of time, the alarm
signal is emitted and the LED is extinguished.
- Deactivating the alarm function
# Place the key in the key switch and turn it to OFF position. The alarm is switched off.
# Pull the key out of the key switch. The arrow marking points towards OFF position.
Overview of LED indications
Green LED 12 – 18 sec:
the period when the delayed alarm
Red LED 12 sec:
the period for deactivation of the delayed alarm
Flashing green:
alarm has responded
Flashing red:
the batteries must be replaced
Flashing green / red alternately:
alarm has responded
Test
Testing the function of the door alarm
# Arrange the door alarm and the magnet on a tabletop for the test. Make sure that the distance between the head
of the arrow on the magnet and the mark on one of the two magnetic switches [5] or [8] is 10 mm.
# Activate the immediate alarm function
. Please note that the very loud alarm signal will be emitted in the
next stage of the test.
# Increase the distance between the magnet and the door alarm. If the alarm signal is emitted, the test was
successful.
Installation
Caution: Take care not to damage any glass or mirrored surfaces on the door leaf when fitting the device.
You can fit the door alarm for use on doors with the hinge on the left or right. Affix the device with the adhesive tape or
fastening screws. The efficiency of the magnet may be reduced on metallic doors. In this case reduce the distance
between the magnet and the door alarm to below 10 mm.
You will need a pen with removable ink to mark the mounting points.
# Place the magnet [9] vertically at a level of approx. 150 cm on the door frame, directly next to the edge of the door
leaf.
# Make sure that the arrow symbol on the magnet is pointing towards the door leaf (see also Fig. A).
# Make sure that the magnet does not touch the door leaf.
# Mark the outline of the magnet casing on the door frame.
# Close the door completely.
# Place the door alarm at a max. 10 mm distance from the magnet on the edge of the door leaf.
# Make sure that the marking on the magnetic sensor [5] or [8] is directly next to the arrow symbol on the magnet
(see also Fig. A).
# Make sure that the door alarm does not touch the magnet.
# Mark the outlines of the casing of the door alarm on the door leaf.
Adhesive tape
Use the adhesive pads [18] + [20] to affix the door alarm and the magnet to e.g. glass and plastic doors.
# Remove the protective film from one side of the adhesive pad.
# Stick the adhesive pad [18] flush and fully onto the mounting surfaces of the door alarm casing [11] + [12].
# Remove the protective film from the other side of the adhesive pad.
# Affix the door alarm at the marked position on the door leaf.
# Remove the marked outline of the casing.
# Remove the protective film from one side of the adhesive pad [20].
# Stick the adhesive pad flush and fully onto the base plate [15] of the magnet.
# Remove the protective film from the other side of the adhesive pad.
# Affix the magnet at the marked position on the door frame with the arrow pointing at the door alarm.
# Remove the marked outline of the casing.
Fastening screws
Use the fastening screws [19] to affix the door alarm and the magnet to e.g. wooden doors. Holes are provided on the
back of the door alarm casing for screw mounting [13] +[ 1] . These holes must be marked inside the marking of the
outline of the casing.
Door alarm
# Release the fastening screw [7] for the battery compartment cover [6] in anticlockwise direction.
# Remove the battery compartment cover from the casing of the door alarm and take out the batteries.
# Mark the holes inside the marking on the door leaf.
# Screw one fastening screw approx. 9 mm into the door leaf at the position marking the hole for the upper screw
mounting [13].
# Mount the door alarm on the head of the upper fastening screw through the hole for the upper screw mounting.
# Screw a fastening screw approx. 9 mm into the door leaf through the lower screw mounting hole [14] .
# Make sure that the door alarm is screwed flush onto the door leaf.
# Replace the batteries.
# Fasten the battery compartment cover on the door alarm casing.
# Tighten the fastening screw on the battery compartment cover in clockwise direction.
# Remove the marked outline of the casing.
Magnet
The holes for screw mounting [16] + [17] are located on the underside of the magnet casing. These holes must be
marked inside the marking of the outline of the casing.
# Lever the base plate [15] carefully out of the magnet casing.
# Mark the holes inside the marking on the door frame.
# Screw one fastening screw approx. 9 mm into the door frame through each hole for screw mounting [16] + [17]
of the base plate.
# Make sure that the base plate is screwed flush onto the door frame.
# Press the casing of the magnet completely onto the base plate.
# Remove the marked outline of the casing.
