Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. If necessary, remove the following covers and panels:

Inside the vehicle
Side covering, left, right
-
Rear seat bench on the left
-
Access strips, left side
-
Rear access strips, right side
-
Lower pillar covering
-
Lower dashboard covering
-
3. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 2/8). Use some lubricant if
necessary.
4. Starting in the luggage compartment, lead the socket end of the cable harness through the
cable leadthrough (Fig. 2) to the outside to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/9).
5. Secure the cable with cable ties (Fig. 3).
Installing the socket
6. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/9) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
7. Screw the socket onto the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/9) using the supplied screws and nuts.
Connecting the trailer control module
8. Plug the 12-pin plug and the 18-pin plug into the trailer control module.
9. Position the trailer control module in the side wall pocket on the left (Fig. 1/5) and secure it in
place by way of some Velcro tape.
10. Insert the supplied miniature relay (Fig. 1/6, 4/6) into the relay socket. Secure the relay socket
on the cable harness using cable ties.
Connecting the tail lights
11. Lay the cable end with the left-side marking to the left-hand tail light (Fig. 1/7).
12. Disconnect the plug-in connectors from the tail light (Fig. 1/7). Connect the plug-in connectors
to the appropriate counterparts of the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into
place. Insulate the plug-in connectors on the inside with a foam sheet (noise emission).
13. Lay the cable harness along the cable harness of the vehicle through the side case on the left
and to the front.
14. Connect the black wire with the eyelet to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/5, 5/4).
15. Lay the cable set under the seat bench to the right side and from there along the cable
harness of the vehicle to the tail light.
16. Repeat step 12 on the right-hand side.
