Start the instrument
After the reagents are installed, start the instrument.
1. Open the sample supply valve to the instrument. Allow sample pressure to the instrument to
stabilize.
2. Turn on the power to the instrument. The instrument starts the initialization process. When the
startup is complete, the measurement screen shows.
3. Remove the air from the reagent tubes. Refer to
4. After the air purge cycle is complete, the instrument pulls the reagent into the tubes, through the
pump and into the colorimeter. After this prime process, examine the reagent tubes to make sure
that all air is removed and that reagent is in the tubes.
Note: If necessary, prime the instrument manually. Refer to
The instrument is ready for operation.
Purge air from the reagent tubes
If the instrument is operated with an empty reagent bottle, air can get into the reagent tube. After a
new bottle of reagent is installed, remove the air from the tubes.
The steps that follow are done at the instrument.
1. Use the supplied tool to open the upper enclosure.
2. Go to INSTRUMENT SETUP>MAINTENANCE>PURGE REAGENT LINES.
3. Complete the screen prompts. Push ENTER to put the instrument in standby and start the purge.
4. Push ENTER again to process the purge. The count value screen shows.
Note: The count value controls the number of purge pulses. The default value is set to five when this screen
shows. The manufacturer recommends five purge counts. The number of purge counts can be increased as
necessary to remove all the air from the reagent tubes.
5. If necessary, change the count value. Push ENTER.
