3.2. PREPARING FOR USE
APPLIANCE LOCATION
The temperature of environment must not be higher than
40°C and the relative humidity should be less than 85%.
Ensure good ventilation in the room in which the device
is being used. The device should always be used when
positioned on an even, stable, clean, fireproof and dry
surface, and be out of the reach of children and persons
with limited mental and sensory functions. Position the
device such that you always have access to the power
plug. The power cord connected to the appliance must be
properly grounded and correspond to the technical details
on the product label.

3.3. DEVICE USE

3.3.1. REPLACING THE GRINDING HEAD
a)
Loosen the head fixing screw (4)
b)
Pull the grinding head off the motor housing (5)
c)
Place the appropriate grinding head (4) on the motor
housing (5), making sure that the tabs in the drive
transmission and the housing fit snugly, then press
both parts gently together.
d)
Tighten the grinding head with the screw (4).
Rev. 12.05.2020
3.3.2. SHARPENING
NOTE! The drill bit to be sharpened should be dry and free
from dirt.
a)
Place the drill bit in the appropriate hole on the
grinding head (3) and start the device with the switch
(6).
b)
The drill bit should be constantly moved during
sharpening, i.e. it should be turned left / right 20o
while applying light pressure downwards.
c)
Turn off the device after 5-10 seconds.
d)
Check the sharpening result according to the
following instructions:
The tip of the drill bit turns blue = overheating.
Solution: reduce the pressure on the bit, cool it in
the meantime with water.
One side is longer than the other and the tip is
not centered = uneven sharpening time and / or
force on each side of the bit. Solution: sharpen
the short side slightly longer and be careful to
apply even pressure.
Sharpening a broken bit takes too long =
excessive tip disproportions compared to a blunt
bit. Solution: shape the tip with a bench grinder.
e)
Repeat the above steps on the other side of the bit.
Always sharpen both sides with the same pressure for
the same time.
f)
If the result is not satisfactory repeat the sharpening
process as above.
3.3.3. ADJUSTING THE BIT SHARPENER
a)
Turn the adjustment knob (2) clockwise to raise the
grinding wheel to make its effect on the drill more
aggressive. This is helpful when sharpening short bits.
b)
Turn the knob to the left to lower the grinding wheel.
This is recommended if you want to get gentler edges
but it may require a longer sharpening time.
3.3.4. REPLACING THE GRINDING WHEEL
The grinding wheel should be replaced if there are grooves
or ridges on its surface. To facilitate this operation, refer to
the assembly drawing and the parts list.
a)
Loosen the 2 screws as shown in the picture below.
b)
Remove the upper mount of the grinding head.
c)
Remove the grinding wheel fittings, make sure the
spring stays in place.
d)
Unscrew the adjustment cylinder from the wheel base
by turning it clockwise.
e)
Remove the washer.
f)
Remove the grinding wheel and replace it with a new
one. Also replace the washer.
g)
Reassemble everything in reverse order to removal,
making sure the tabs coincide.
h)
Screw the components together.
