Connection with PIN index
The pressure regulator can also be fitted with a PIN index. Please note that only the one
original TESCOM EUROPE gasket included in the scope of supply may be used.
When making the connection, it is absolutely essential to check the gasket for evidence of
GB
damage and soiling. If the gasket is damaged or soiled, the pressure regulator must not
be used and has to be replaced (Chapter 5.2.3 "Replacing gaskets"; ordering information
appears in Chapter 7.5).
The pins sticking out of the PIN index must fit into the bore on the cylinder valve. The
arrangement of these pins will vary depending upon the type of gas.
The entire PIN index - with the gasket - must slot into the sealing surface of the cylinder
valve by hand (without having to exert excess force).
As soon as the compressed gas cylinder is opened, the compressed gas pushes the gasket
into the annulus between the valve on the compressed gas cylinder and the pressure
regulator. This creates a reliable seal.
Screw the tommy screw tight by hand (make sure that the tip of the tommy screw is sitting
in the centre hole of the cylinder valve).
Check that the pressure regulator and the compressed gas cylinder are securely connected
before slowly opening the cylinder valve. If the connection is not tight, close the cylinder
valve immediately.
Once the connection has been made correctly, run a performance test (see Chapter 5.2
"Performance test") to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Responsibility for using and operating the pressure regulator and the equipment connected
to it, as well as any accessories, lies with the user or operator.

Connecting downstream equipment
A variety of equipment can be connected downstream of the TESCOM EUROPE WegaMed
Compact.
Only suitable equipment may be connected to the pressure regulator. Chapter 6, "Combi-
nation with downstream equipment", describes permissible accessories.
When connecting equipment, please note the following:
1. Connections and gaskets must be clean and free from oil and grease.
2. There must be no evidence of damage on the gasket and sealing surfaces.
