General cleaning and
maintenance work
Do not spray the tool down with
water (especially not under pres-

running water.
Wear protective gloves when car-
rying out maintenance and clean-
ing work on the tool to avoid injury
from cuts.
Always clean the tool thoroughly after
each use. Always keep the tool clean. Do
not use cleaning fluids or solvents.
•
Remove any soil or dirt stuck to the
choppers (9), drive shaft (8) and
device surface using a brush or dry
cloth.
•
Spray or rub biodegradable oil into the
tines (9).
•
Clean soiled grips with a damp cloth.
•
Always check the tool for obvious
damage such as loose, worn or dam-
aged parts before using it. Check that
all nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
•
Check the covers and guards for dam-
age and correct fit. Change them if
necessary.
Replacing the choppers
The device is equipped with 4 choppers (9)
that are easy to replace. You can install
the choppers from either the left or right.
Always replace all the choppers
at the same time to prevent da-
mage due to imbalance in the
device.

Switch the tool off, unplug it and
wait for the choppers (9) to stop
turning.
1. Pull the safety clips over the bolts (16)
and pull out the bolts.
2. Pull out the outer chopper (9) from the
drive shaft (8).
3. Loosen the self-securing nut from the
hexagonal bolt (15). Use two open-en-
ded spanners (AF13) for this purpose.
4. Pull out the inner chopper (9) from the
drive shaft (8).
5 . Clean the drive shaft (8) using biode-
gradable oil.
6. Slide the new chopper (9) onto the
drive shaft (8) in such a way that the
holes on the blade axis line up with the
holes on the drive shaft (8).
Ensure the rotary direction of
the choppers (9) is correct.
The bevelled edge of the chop-
per (9) must point in the direc-
tion of travel of the chopper (9)
towards the ground.
The direction of travel is mar-
ked on the appliance housing
with an arrow.
7. Slide the hexagonal bolt (15) through
the hole situated close to the
gears (7) and screw in a new self-
securing nut (contained within the
delivery scope of a new chopper).
8. Slide the bolt (16) through the hole
and fasten in place using the safe-
ty clip.
Mount the bolts' safety clips
(
16) so that they close con-
trary to the running direction of
the choppers.
