Preparation for the installation
As standard, in the delivered state, the LED strip is prepared for connection to an I/O unit (fig. 1). For
the connection to the alarm relay of a CMC III PU or the direct connection to a CMC III power pack,
the wiring must be changed.
◾ Depending on the application, wire the LED strip in accordance with the associated circuit diagram
(fig. 1, fig. 2 or fig. 3).
5.3
Connection of the LED strip
◾ Connect the individual plugs depending on the application in accordance with the associated
circuit diagram to the appropriate components (power pack, CMC III PU, I/O unit).
5.4
Settings
Depending on the application, more advanced settings must be made to the individual components.
This is not necessary only for the "continuous illumination" application. The LED strip illuminates in the
desired colour directly after connection to the power pack.
Alarm relay and I/O unit applications
◾ Ensure that the alarm relay in the Processing Unit is activated and the desired switching logic is
selected (Configuration tab > System group box > General dialogue > Alarm Relay group box
> Alarm Relay Behaviour setting).
◾ No further settings are required for the alarm relay application. The colour of the LED strip changes
to indicate the switching state of the alarm relay.
I/O unit application
◾ Define three potential-free relay contacts of the I/O unit in accordance with the connection diagram.
As described, it is desirable to use the colour of the associated LED (red, green or blue).
◾ Link the status of the desired sensors with the associated relay contact of the I/O unit, each in a
task.
If the installation is not successful: see section 1.1.
