Installation of Clients on work stations

Installation of PLOTCLIENT WIN on a Windows PC
In this chapter you can read about which system requirements have to be fulfilled and how to carry out the installation.
System requirements for PLOTCLIENT WIN
Please read through the following recommendations carefully:

Installation of PLOTCLIENT WIN
The installation program is in the released directory "Tools" of PLOTBASE:
To install the program, please proceed as follows:
1. Start Windows as a user with administrator rights and open Windows Explorer.
2. If Windows has already been started with administrator rights, close all running programs or rather save all stored
data if necessary.
3. Change via the network to the installation directory \\[ServerPC]\Tools\RW-7140 PLOTCLIENT WIN.
4. Start the "Setup.exe" file.
5. Select the setup language and click on "OK".
6. Click on "Next" in the "Welcome" dialog box.
7. Click on "I agree", if you accept the license agreements. Click on "I do not agree" if you do not accept and wish to
abort the installation. Finally click on "Next".
8. Select the option "Complete" in the next dialog box if you wish to install all parts of the program. Select "Custom" if
you wish to change the installation path or if you wish to dispense with the example files. However, you can try out
the program functions with the example files directly after installation. If you have selected "Complete" proceed with
step 10.
9. If have selected "Custom" you can change the target directory of the installation. In addition you can decide whether
the example files should be installed or not. Confirm the changes with "Next".
10. In the next window, have the Windows firewall adjusted automatically, press on "Next" to confirm.
11. To keep your settings, now click on "Install".
PLOTCLIENT WIN is installed.
12. As soon as installation has finished, click on "Finished".
13. Start PLOTBASE so that PLOTCLIENT WIN can find the plot server [PLOTBASE] and can set up spool paths
automatically when starting for the first time.
14. Start PLOTCLIENT WIN and click on "OK" to confirm the first message that the network environment is automatically
looking for a plot server.
If you have installed exactly one plot server, then PLOTCLIENT WIN now automatically finds the server and the
spool paths set up on it; it enters them straight into the two corresponding boxes under the menu bar.
15. Click on "OK" to confirm the second message that you can now make the standard settings for print jobs.
16. In the next window, adopt or change the standard settings and click on "OK" to confirm.
PLOTCLIENT WIN is now ready for your work.
