4 - OPERATING PROCEDURES

4-1

SWITCHING ON

Switch on the clamp by selecting the main function with the switch; all the
symbols appear on the display for approx 0.5 seconds, except the ADP symbol.
The clamp is then in auto mode: without RANGE, without HOLD, on AC mode,
without MIN/MAX, without diode test
4-2
OFF: MANUAL OFF
Resetting to the OFF position switches off the clamp and cancels the
configuration which may have been selected for the secondary functions.
4-3

AUTO OFF

The clamp switches OFF automatically after 10 minutes of operation in the
following conditions:
- no buttons pressed
- no rotation of the switch
- permanent operation inhibited
The purpose of this function is to save the battery, when you forget to return
to the OFF position after measurements.
The switch allows the instrument to be switched on again, via the OFF position,
with loss of the configuration which may have been selected for the secondary
functions.
4-4

PERMANENT OPERATION

Pressing the DC zero button, when the instrument is switched on, inhibits the
auto off function; the clamp is in permanent operating mode. To cancel
permanent operation, reset the switch to OFF.
NB: There is no symbol on the display for this mode of operation.
Selection of the MIN or MAX mode inhibits auto off; the clamp is in permanent
operation. Return to auto off when MIN or MAX is exited.
