Adding/Removing Water
CAUTION!
❐ Always pull out the mains plug before you top up/empty the water reservoir. Always pull the
plug and never the cable.
❐ Allow the device to cool down completely before pouring in water. Otherwise there could
be an uncontrolled emission of steam.
❐ Never pour any cleaning agent or other chemical additives into the water reservoir. This
could destroy the device and safe working is no longer guaranteed.
❐ Do not overfi ll the water reservoir. Do not pour more than 255 ml of water into the water
reservoir. Only fi ll the device with distilled water.
1. The device has a safety cap. Press the water reservoir cap down and unscrew it in the
anticlockwise direction.
2. Pour the water using the measuring cup and the funnel supplied into the water reservoir.
3. To close the water reservoir up again, place the cap on, press it down and screw it tight again
in the clockwise direction.
4. To empty the water reservoir, always allow the device to cool down fi rst and open the water
reservoir cap a little so that the pressure can be released from the device. Only fully unscrew
the water reservoir cap once the pressure has been completely reduced. Empty the water
tank by pouring the remaining water into a basin.
Use
CAUTION!
❐ Never direct the steam at people, animals or plants. Never smooth down clothing with the
device if the clothing is being worn by people at the time. This can cause severe scalding!
❐ Only hold the device by the handle when you are operating it. There is a danger of scalding!
❐ The hose can become very hot during use. Only ever hold the hose by the outer end.
❐ Always work with suffi cient lighting.
❐ Never use the device without water!
❐ Always try cleaning fi rst at a small, inconspicuous spot.
❐ Always hold the device horizontally during use.
❐ Never use the device on cold glass surfaces. The hot steam could cause the glass to shatter.
❐ Never attempt to smooth clothing when it is being worn by someone.
❐ When smoothing fabrics, always test the appliance on a small, unnoticeable area fi rst.
Make sure that there is enough space around the piece of clothing you intend to smooth.
For this, it must be hanging on a clothes hanger and may not come into contact with other
pieces of clothing, objects, persons or animals.
❐ Only hang up the fabric you intend to smooth where there is no risk of heat or moisture
infl icting damage.
❐ Never direct the steam at one spot for too long.
