How to use your Longines chronograph
Your chronograph is a precise and reliable timepiece for daily use. It is
fitted with the Longines L678 self-winding movement. The watch is
water-resistant and has a sapphire glass.
When used as a watch, this chronograph shows the hours, minutes,
seconds, day, month, date and phases of the moon.
In its chronograph function, this model can time events lasting up to 12
hours; the results are displayed to within 1/5th of a second.
The crown with 3 positions
1. Pushed down
Winding: The natural movements of your wrist automatically wind your
Longines chronograph which has a 42 hours power reserve. Manual
winding is only necessary if you do not wear your chronograph for sev-
eral days.
2. In the intermediate position
Date and month correction: Turn the crown backwards to correct the
date and month, then push it back down. The date must be reset after
months with fewer than 31 days.
14
Moon phase correction: Turn the crown forwards to correct the moon
phase after consulting a calendar, which gives the necessary informa-
tion; then push the crown back down.
Caution: Never correct the date and moon phases between 7 pm and
6 am as this may damage the mechanism.
3. In the outer position
Setting the time + seconds Stop: Pull the crown out as far as it will
go; the dial hand (seconds subdial) will stop.
Set the time by turning the crown in the desired direction.
Push the crown back down at the appropriate time signal (telephone,
radio, TV).
Day corrector: The day correction pushpiece is located at the 10
o'clock position. Use a soft point to press down on the corrector to
select the precise day.
Important: If you encounter a problem with your chronograph, it must
only be entrusted to a Longines dealer.
Precautions concerning the water-resistant seal
Your Longines Phases of the moon watch is water-resistant but the seal
may be damaged without your realising it if the watch is subjected to a
shock. The water-resistant seal should be checked each time the watch
undergoes its regular service.
