9.5 Maintenance
9.5.1 Clean the sensor port
Do not put objects in the sensor port or damage to the sensor membrane can occur.
Only the sensor port of the depth sensor can be seen. Clean the sensor port to remove unwanted
material as necessary.
1. To remove calcium, use a syringe to put vinegar in the sensor port. Keep the vinegar in the
sensor port overnight.
2. To remove grease, oil or biological material, use a syringe to put soap or rubbing alcohol in the
sensor port.
3. Put clean water in the sensor port with a syringe.

The nitrate sensor (007254) is red. Refer to
There is a replaceable sensor cartridge installed in the sensor. Refer to for the deployment life of the
sensor cartridge.
For best results, use the sensor in waters that are pH 3 to 8 and 5 to 40 °C (41 to 104 °F).
The sensor cartridge has a depth limit of 15 meters (49 feet). Remove the sensor cartridge and install
the sensor cap before the sonde is deployed deeper than 15 m (49 ft) to prevent damage to the
sensor cartridge. Refer to the illustrated steps in
To extend the life of the sensor cartridge, remove the sensor cartridge and install the sensor cap
when the sensor is not in use. Refer to the illustrated steps in
