suction receptacle should always face downwards and not towards you.
During operation, the overflow protection mechanism (float valve) inhibits
suction before the receptacle threatens to overflow. Overflow protection is
deactivated by removing the suction receptacle from the pump, emptying it
where necessary and then fitting it back on the pump. When overflow protection
is activated, resistance prevents the pump handle from being used.

3. Cleaning / Disinfecting
3.1 The receptacle must be removed from the vacuum pump after use.
3.2 The suction receptacle and all adapters and suction tubes must be disposed of.
3.3 The pump can be cleaned and disinfected by washing it with hot soapy water or
a mild cleaning agent.
3.4 Check the pump for damage or wear.
3.5 Test the function of the pump (see item 4 - „Functional check")
3.6 The pump can now be stored away again together with the new suction
receptacle and the appropriate suction tubes and adapters.
