The fan may only be connected with cabling
between 0.75 and 1.5 mm
with a mains isolation device that has contact
openings of at least 3.5 mm at each pole.
The airflow monitor should only be operated
using the rated voltage and power frequency
as stated on the unit's rating plate.
Use screened cables if sensor cabling is to be
laid in trunking.
The airflow monitor is designed in accordance
with VDE safety requirements within the
framework of the equipment safety legislation
as well as the pertinent regulations laid down in
the EC directives.
Modifications and changes to the airflow
monitor are not permitted and if carried out,
they release MAICO from any and all guarantee
commitments or liability.
Installation
The maximum permitted overall length of the
sensor cable [E] should not exceed 10 m.
The minumum distance from the sensor [F] to
the fan should be at least three times the
diameter of the duct or three times the width of
the channel.
If an air heater is used in the duct or channel
system, the sensor [F] must be built in before
the heater unit, based on the flow direction.
Observe the technical data.
1. Drill a hole with a 22 mm diameter in the duct
or channel.
2. Fix the sensor [F] in place with the supplied
bracket and screws. The point at which the air
passes the sensor should be located in the
middle of the duct or channel. The printed scale
can be used as a setup help. Select the ma-
ximum mounting depth with larger ducts or
channels. Ensure that the arrow on the end of
the sensor points in the same direction as the
airflow.
3. Mount the controller [A] in a housing or a
control cabinet on a 35mm mounting channel
(in accordance with DIN EN 60715) and con-
nect the electrical cabling. Please refer to the
wiring diagram on the controller [A] or Figure 2
in these mounting instructions.

4. Using a screwdriver, turn the setting screw [B]
to the correct position for the desired airflow
setpoint value. Also take note of the time steps
described in the „Function" chapter.
5. Check for correct functioning. Here, we re-
commend the use of an airflow comparison
measurement using a hot-wire anemometer.
Troubleshooting
Green LED [D] = OUT: Always check whether
the mains fuse is switched on.
Green LED [D] is flashing: Sensor is defective
or the sensor cabling is broken (terminals 6
and 7). Seek expert assistance.
If the unit fails to restart or if it breaks down again,
remove the power and call on the services of a
specialist.
