1) The device is initially completely off, the green diode (3) is not flashing.
2) Press the green key (1) to switch on the device, the device comes on on the last selected
scenario.
3) Place the device on standby mode by pressing the green key (1) for a few seconds.
4) At the same time press the orange key (3) first and the green key (1) to access the
configuration menu.
5) Select automatic or manual analysis mode according to the configuration of the FRED
Easy which you wish to use for training. Select by pressing successively on the green key (1)
and change to the next menu by pressing on the orange key (3)
6) In the same way, select the PAD configuration (Public Access Defibrillator):
none = Configuration without information messages (none of the messages 1 to 7 in the table
in Appendix A will be displayed).
Short = Configuration with brief information messages (the messages 1 and 7 in the table in
Appendix A will be displayed)
True = Configuration with full information messages (all the messages 1 to 7 in the table in
Appendix A will be displayed)
7) In the same way, select your scenario 0 to 8 or 9 for infrared control mode.
8) The next menu proposes that you save your selection. Validate by pressing the green key
(1). The device then switches off and is placed on standby mode. The green diode (3) flashes
to inform the user that the device is operating normally.
The user is then ready to start the device normally and it will operate according to the scenario
selected.
In the case of the selection of scenario number 9 the device awaits the trainer's orders before
changing status. These orders are transmitted using an infrared control and received in the
device by means of a receiver situated as shown (4) in the photograph above.
