2) INTENDED USE

The Training FRED is a simple cost-effective defibrillator simulator that is designed to
be used exclusively for training. In no event may it be used as a conventional defibrillator. It
has been designed for the purpose of training users of Schiller's FRED Easy semi-automatic
defibrillator. The device provides several simulations or scenarios (from 0 to 8) that aim to
help beginners to familiarise themselves with the FRED Easy and show that they have the
knowledge required to use it in case of emergency. The device also allows the trainer to work
using an infrared remote control so that he can intervene in real time on the scenario in
progress.

3) CHARACTERISTICS

The FRED easy Trainer allows the simulated delivery of electric shocks. There is no
high voltage in the device, and training is risk free.
The FRED Easy trainer may be used on all types of mannequins as it does not deliver
an electric shock. It may only be used with the training electrodes sold by Schiller.
The FRED Easy Trainer may be used with an infrared remote control. The remote
control allows the trainer to control the training actions.
The FRED Easy Trainer has 9 pre-recorded training scenarios which simulate realistic
cardiac arrest configurations.
The basic equipment of the Training FRED consists of:
-
4 LR6 batteries which may be replaced by rechargeable batteries.
-
training electrodes consisting of a single use electrode part and a reusable cable.
The cable is fitted with a magnet allowing the device to recognise the presence of
the electrodes in the device without any electrical contact.
Reusable
adhesive disk for fixing the reusable
cable.
Reusable cable fitted with a magnet in
the connector so that the FRED Easy
T knows the electrodes are present.
