3.2 Design
The complete sawing unit consists of the sawing slide with the two brackets for fixing the blade guard
and for bearing the parallel rockers, the drive unti with the switching handle and the hand grip which is
used at the sama time for adjusting the cutting depth. A bypass valve which is arranged at the gear is
changed when sawing dry for changing the water flow away from the diamond saw blade.
The Hs 40 is provided electrically via the frequency converter FU 4. HS 40 and FU 4 are water proof,
i.e. on intended use no water can enter the motor.

Scope of delivery

Diamond hand saw (1) with blade guard, ball valve and plug nipple (1a), wrench SW 10 and operators
manual.
3.4 Noise emissions and vibration (EN 50144)
The typical A-rated sound pressure level is 86 dB(A).
The typical A-weighted sound capacity level is 99 dB.
The typical rated acceleration is 2,5m/s².
4. P R E P A R A T I O N
Be convincing that the machine has not been damaged in transit. Check that the nominal voltage is the
same as the voltage indicated on the rating plate.
4.1

Electrical connection

Connect the HS 40 via the frequency converter FU 4 only on a properly earthed shockproof socket. If
required use only high quality extension cords with sufficient cross section.
Up to 50m length - 3G1,5 quality, e.g. H 07BQ-F or H 07RN-F
50 - 100m length - 3G2,5 quality, e.g. H 07BQ-F or H 07RN-F
Take care that the extension cord is not rolled up during use in order to guarantee
efficient heat flow. Please appreciate that the HS 40 draws the maximum possible current
from the electric mains. Thus do not connect any other loads to this fuse, as in this case
the mains and the fuse could be overloaded.
4.2

Water connection

Now connect the frequency converter vie the plug-in nipple to the water supply. Connect the FU 4 with
the hand saw via a water hose. The ball valve must at any time be on the side of the water supply.
