c) Handling and use
• Never cover the product when it is in use.
• Never touch, operate, plug in or unplug the product with damp or
wet hands. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Never connect the product to the power supply immediately after
it has been transferred from a cold room into a warm one (e.g.,
during transport). The condensation that develops in such cases
could damage the device or cause an electric shock! Allow the
product to reach room temperature. Wait until the condensation
has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only after this
should the product be plugged into the power supply and put into
use.
• Always pull a mains plug on the gripping surface intended for this
purpose. Never unplug the mains plug from a mains socket by
pulling the cable!
• Make sure that the small objects, textiles, hair, etc. do not get into
the rotor. This may damage the product but there is also a risk of
injury!
• Do not insert objects into the protection grid, risk of injury!
• If you want to move the product (e.g. to place it in a different posi-
tion), switch it off beforehand. Do not move the product by pulling
the cable.
• Never leave the product unattended when it is in use.
• Always pull the mains plug out of the mains socket before clean-
ing the product, or when it is not to be used for a while. For safe-
ty reasons, pull the mains plug out of the mains socket during a
thunderstorm.
• Never pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the
risk of causing a fire or a fatal electric shock.
If any liquid has still happened to enter the device, immediately
turn off the power supply to the mains socket to which the table
fan is connected (turn off the fuse / circuit breaker / residual cur-
rent operated circuit breaker of the associated circuits). Only then
can you unplug the mains plug of the table fan from the mains
socket and contact a specialist. Do not use the product any longer.
• Do not use the product when it is damaged (e.g., housing, cov-
er grid, mains cable). There is a risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
A faulty power mains cable may be replaced only by a specialist.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke
or a smell of burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to
the product or the adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of
the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Sys-
tems and Operating Facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating
instructions, please contact our technical department or another
specialist.
Notes for batteries / rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of chil-
dren.
• Do not leave batteries / rechargeable batteries lying around; there is
a risk that they could be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed,
consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged normal / rechargeable batteries coming into con-
tact with the skin can cause acid burns; for this reason use suitable
safety gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries / rechargeable batteries are very chem-
ically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with these
liquids may be severely damaged. Therefore, keep batteries / recharge-
able batteries in a suitable location.
