Stand-by mode
The direction of an object
from a point is displayed as
the compass direction (e.g.
"NW" for Northwest) and as
a bearing in degrees (e.g.
"304-336" for northwest).
Here the compass direction
of Object B seen from Point
A is EAST. The compass
direction of Object C seen
from Point A is SOUTHEAST.

NORTHWEST.
Compass directions and
bearings
In compass mode the pointer
circling the display shows
A The compass direction
B The bearing
C The current time in hours and
minutes
D The direction of the magnetic
North Pole
The bearing of an object is
defined as the angular difference
between north and the object.
For north 0° is assumed, the
measuring range is from 0°
to 359°.
Here the bearing of Object B
seen from Point A is 90°. The
bearing f Object C seen from A is
135°. The bearing of
