INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND MAINTENANCE
reseller if necessary.
2.3 Hose connection
- Attach hose to the hose connection of the outlet con-
nection (7) and tighten with the clamps provided.
- Only use compliant hoses.
2.3 Checks required before commissioning
After installation, the following checks must be per-
formed:
- Make sure there are no gas leaks from the reducer or
from hose connections (see 5.3).
- If there are gas leaks from the reducer, after having
discharged the pressure, check that all the gaskets are
made of suitable material and that they are actually
present at the reducer connection/inlet points.
- All gearbox seals have already been inspected at the
factory. However, it is advisable to check them after in-
stallation together with the seals on the connected hos-
es. A perfect seal is essential for device commissioning.
3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
3.1 Opening
- Slowly open the cylinder valve (1). The high pressure
gauge (4) will show you the cylinder pressure.
- Opening the cylinder valve too quickly may make gaug-
es malfunction.
- Open the pressure adjusting handle (6) very slowly
toward the + symbol. The low pressure gauge (5) will
show the outlet pressure.
CAUTIONS
Before opening the cylinder valve (1), check carefully
that the reducer is completely closed (turn the pres-
sure adjusting handle (6) toward the - symbol).
3.2 How to regulate pressure
- To increase pressure: slowly Turn the pressure adjusting
handle (6) toward the + symbol.
- To decrease pressure: slowly Turn the pressure adjusting
handle (6) toward the - symbol.
- Using the pressure adjusting handle (6) it is possible to
compensate an eventual pressure drop.
- Regulation is not possible for Minimum.
CAUTIONS
• Outlet pressure must not be regulated higher than
the pressure you need to use.
• Outlet pressure must not be regulated higher than
the red mark on the low pressure gauge (5).
• When you draw gas from CO
ery flows, always use the pre-heater (Preheater code
299705 or 299706) to avoid the freezing of the inter-
nal parts of the pressure reducer.
3.4 Closing
- Close the cylinder valve (1).
cylinders at high deliv-
2
- Release the gas until the reducer gauges indicate "zero".
- Turn the pressure adjusting handle (6) toward the - sym-
bol.
4. STORAGE
- The pressure reducer must be treated as a precision
instrument.
- When the pressure reducer is not to be used for long
periods, store it in its wrapping or in its box , to prevent
contact with dust, oil and other sources of dirt.
5. MAINTENANCE
- It is advisable not to attempt to perform any mainte-
nance or repair operations not indicated in this manual.
- Use only original OXYTURBO spare parts and accesso-
ries.
- Spare parts are available also from your retailer.
- In case of failures which cannot be repaired following
these instructions, take your pressure reducer back to
the retailer.
- Do not clean pressure reducer, gauge glasses and cyl-
inder valve gauge glasses with petrol, solvents or any
other kind of detergent or flammable liquids.
5.1 Mulfunctioning
- In case of mulfunction (e.g. leaks in the gauges or in
the relief valves) stop use and close the cylinder valve
immediately. (1)
- Discharge the pressure downstream of the system and
contact the reseller.
- Unless there is visible damage to the outside of the
instrument, we suggest that the pressure reducer be
returned to the supplier to be checked and repaired.
CAUTIONS
Do not use the pressure reducer if there are the follow-
ing malfunctions:
- The gasket (2) is damaged or lost.
- The pressure reducer or any of its parts (gauge, inlet
connection, outlet connection) are damaged or dirty,
oily etc.
- There are any leaky connections.
- The relief valve adjustment has been modified or the
valve leaks.
5.2 Relief valve
- For safety reasons, the pressure reducer is equipped
with an excess pressure valve.
- In case of mulfunctioning, this valve allows the gas
pressure in excess to escape.
5.3 Checking the seal
- This check must be carried out only in the open air: use
either soapy water or a gas leak detector (Gascontrol
cod. 405000.EX). Do not use flames.
- Spray detector on the area to be checked.
- The forming of bubbles or foam is a sign of a leak.
