S The signal conditioners and devices of automation
must be blocked in such a way that adequate protec
tion or locking against unintentional actuation is pro
vided (e.g. access checks, password protection, etc.).
S If the SCMHV is operated on QuantumX modules,
additional safety precautions must be taken in terms
of both hardware and software for signal conditioners
working in networks, so that a line break or other in
terruptions to signal transmission do not cause unde
fined states or loss of data in the automation device.
S After making settings and carrying out activities that
are password-protected, you must make sure that any
controls that may be connected remain in a safe con
dition until the switching performance of the signal
conditioner has been tested.
Additional safety precautions
This signal conditioner is built and tested in accordance
with EN 61010, Safety Requirements for Electrical Equip
ment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use, and
was in perfect condition when it left production. To main
tain this condition and ensure risk-free operation (reduc
ing residual risks, EN 610101:2010 17 c), the user must
comply with the instructions and warning notices con
tained in this operating manual.
Additional safety precautions to meet the requirements of
the relevant national and local accident prevention regu
lations must be taken in plants where malfunctions could
cause major damage, loss of data or even personal in
jury.
The scope of supply and performance of the signal con
ditioner covers only a small area of measurement tech
nology. Before starting up the signal conditioner in a sys
